what we can read in the wt 10/15/2015... they have really no shame!.
.
it looks to me like the society is rapidly moving back to the february 2008 watchtower "new light" on "this generation," which said this:.
* jesus used "this generation" to mean "anointed ones.".
* in the first fulfillment, jesus was promising that some anointed ones would still be alive to witness the events of 70 c.e.. * in the secondary fulfillment, jesus was promising that some anointed ones would still be alive when jesus returns to judge the sheep and goats.. the new 2015 jw research guide posted on jw.org lists this 2008 watchtower article as the first article people should read about the "clarified understanding" of the generation.. this 2008 view also matches the statement in the new 2015 jesus--the way, the truth, the life book, which says that "this generation" refers to disciples who see the signs of the last days.. i think they are abandoning the overlapping part..
shit!
it finally happened.. years ago i speculated on this happening but can't find the posts.
anyway, this is a tactically aggressive move by wt.
The apostle John understood the antichrist to be all who deliberately spread religious deception about Jesus Christ and Jesus’ teachings (Watchtower, June 2015)
Hmmm. It seems the Watch Tower Society has commented on this whole "Antichrist" thing before:
Are They “Antichrists”?
The Greek Orthodox Church also claimed: “Jehovah’s Witnesses not only cannot be rightfully called Christians, that is to say, disciples of Christ, but on the contrary, they are . . . the antichrists.”
What does the Bible say of “antichrist”? At 1 John 2:22 it states: “Who is the liar if it is not the one that denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one that denies the Father and the Son.”
Thus, the plain fact of God’s inspired Word is that an antichrist does not accept Jesus. But Jehovah’s Witnesses do! They most fervently believe in Jesus and follow his teachings! In fact, no one can become one of Jehovah’s Witnesses without accepting Jesus as the divine Son of God, who came down from heaven, was impaled and resurrected, and who returned to heaven.
So anyone who says that Jehovah’s Witnesses are “antichrist” either is badly misinformed, is blinded by prejudice, or has evil motives. (Watchtower, 01. December, pp. 5-6)
as someone brought up as a jw and been an elder and been disfellowshipped (twice!!!
) i find it difficult to understand why ex jws have to attack the religion, yes religion, not cult or sect.
i am no longer disfellowshipped just do not want to practice anymore.
"The Catholic Church occupies a very significant position in the world and claims to be the way of salvation for hundreds of millions of people. Any organization that assumes that position should be willing to submit to scrutiny and criticism." Awake! 22. August 1984, p. 28.
What is sauce for the goose, is sauce for the gander...
The Watch Tower Society claims to hold a very significant position in the world; indeed, to be the exclusive way of salvation for all mankind. An organization that assumes that position should be willing to submit to scrutiny and criticism.
"as we might expect, over the years jehovah has helped the faithful and discreet slave to become steadily more discreet.
" 3/2015 study wt.
i guess they just admitted their self title as the discreet slave was not discreet.
Oh, I didn't fail to notice it. But I'm going to insist on the printed admonition to impartiality.

Today, our literature uses that illustration to remind all Christians that we must be impartial in rendering aid to those in need, especially in a spiritual sense. Does it not make us happy to see that Jehovah makes his teachings clear to us?"
Evidently, even "apostates" can now expect to receive 'aid if in need'...
so i'm listening to the regional manager give his mid week talk and he's going over acts 15 where they're dealing with the issues that arrose from the jewish christians wanting the gentile christians to adhear too the mosaic law, so some of the apostles gathered to hash it out.
it struck me, though, that he kept using the phrase "the governing body at that time" to describe the apostles and older men who decided on the matter.
once he even slipped up and said apostles, then corrected it to the gb.. i'm thinking that they've actually gone so far as to put it in his outline to make sure its beaten into the r/f that the gb's power is somehow based in scripture.
One EyedJoe writes: "It's clear that this cult thinks of its literature as equal to the bible since the GB is supposed to be the continuation of the folks who set doctrine in the first century."
The "Christian Greek Scriptures" demonstrate that the early Christians were guided by the Head of the Congregation, the Lord Christ Jesus, not some "Governing Body." But even if we were to assume from Acts chapter 15 that some manner of governing body existed in the first century, we would note that it would have been composed of “the Apostles and older men.” (vs. 6) And the authority of the Apostles was unique: we cannot clothe anyone today with their authority. Even the Reasoning book (p.37) notes: “ Apostolic Succession --Definition: The doctrine that the 12 apostles have successors to whom authority has been passed by divine appointment.... Not a Bible teaching.” (Italics in original)
as 2014 draws to a close, i looked to see what important things happened in history.. looking to 1880, these things all made the news for good reason:.
jan 27th - thomas edison patents electric incandescent lamp.
mar 10th - salvation army of england sets up us welfare & religious activity.

(Shamelessly plugging old thread)
" how inappropriate it would be for any member of the congregation to react according to the world’s spirit, vehemently demanding “justice” or that “something be done.."
The Apostles do not agree:
"... a murmuring arose on the part of the Greek-speaking Jews against the Hebrew-speaking Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution." (Acts 6:1)
"... when YOU come together in a congregation, I hear divisions exist among YOU; and in some measure I believe it." (1 Corinthians 11:17)
"I wrote something to the congregation, but Diotrephes, who likes to have the first place among them, does not receive anything from us with respect. That is why if I come, I will call to remembrance his works which he goes on doing, chattering about us with wicked words. Also, not being content with these things, neither does he himself receive the brothers with respect, and those who are wanting to receive them he tries to hinder and to throw out of the congregation." (3 John 9,10)
