If you really wanna do it all the way just have someone wash your feet for you before leaving and you wash his/hers. Then ensure the bread is unleavened and the wine unfermented.

fairchild:
So, I've decided to put a piece of bread in my pocket. Right after I pass the bread to the person next to me (without partaking), I am going to sneak the bread out of my pocket and eat it. Nobody will notice and I will feel as if I have done the right thing. I'd celebrate Easter at a regular church, but I am on a double shift on Easter Sunday and no way of getting out of it, so this is the only solution I can think of.
That sounds like a workable solution Probably not going to be able to wing it on the wine though...
I also found a neat little idea that families could do together as another nice alternative:
The following is a list of Bible Truths in Matthew 26:20-29; Mark 14:17-25; Luke 22:14-23, the story of the last supper.
The following Background Information is helpful in understanding the story.
Jesus and his disciples reclined at the table during the meal (Luke 22:14), dipping their bread into the bowl (Mark 14:20). See Foods of the Bible for a discussion of eating customs. |
The following activities can be used to teach the Bible story and truths.
Bible Story Activities.
Recreate the Last Supper. Use this activity to help the children understand what should be remembered when the Lord's Supper is celebrated.

you'd think i'd know, but is the memorial tonight?
my son (he's 12) usually goes with my jw mom on the weekend, but she asked to get him today since he's out of school on easter break.
grr, i am thinking now she's doing this for the memorial.
Sounds like some boundaries definitely need to be established with your mom! She should ask permission to take your son to a religious event...
She's probably already bought him a new suit Did she think he would not fess up to you about it? Would she convince him not to tell you.
You must status back and let us know how it all works out.
Certainly sucks to be strapped for childcare. Leaves you little option. I know that feeling.
My daughter is 10 years old and she is going with her father. She asked permission to go. I asked her why she wanted to go and she said, "because I get to dress up and it is the shortest meeting of the year!" My husband and I also prodded her to see if she knew what it was all about and we realized she pretty much tunes all of it out. She had no clue what it was about beyond the fact that Jesus sacrificed his life for us so I guess she got the most important part of it
tonight i heard one of the most cruel and twisted comments i've ever heard at the platform.
the topic was the apocalypse and whether or not children will be slaughtered.
through one side of his mouth, the po stated that the bible is not clear on the matter, while out the other side he pointed to all those old testament accounts where children were killed.
Wow! I wonder how my daughter would feel to hear that at the KH when she is with her dad. The brother on the platform would be speaking of my son her little half brother (who, might I add, is such a sweet, likeable and caring little boy who loves God and is always insisting we do our Bible study).
They are sick and twisted! They think God is going to destroy little children who are worldly and at the same time he hates abortion. Go figure...
i am going to the memorial because i am still confused and stressed and discombobulated on the jw issue.
i know in my heart it is "not" the truth.
my family keeps stopping by unannouced and seeing if i am going.

Simple answers such as:
Hello
Thank you
No thank you
will do you best in my opinion.
For those who ask a probing and personal question you are not comfortable answering just say, "Why would you like to know?" That usuaually throws people off guard and makes them think about what they've just asked and why they had a right to ask it in the first place. If they probe further just say, "I am not comfortable answering your question."
Just remember you do not need to feel obligated to speak with anyone about anything you are not comfortable with.
"We are so glad you are here." What do I say?
Say, "Thank you."
Is there anything I can say? Like the reason I am not going is because of this:.....?
Again, you are not obligated to explain your personal thoughts and opinions to anyone... You need not explain. If you are presented with uncomfortable questions all you have to do is say, "Thank you for your concern but I would rather not discuss that with you."
Hang in there and you can do it!
i know the jws try but imho they miss the mark because they do not all partake, as described in the bible, and they do not do the foot washing as commanded in those verses as well.
i am hard pressed to find a religion that actually does "do this in remembrance of me" as explained in the bible accounts by jesus.
does anyone know if there is a religion that tries to re-enact the event as it is described in the bible?
When I read the previous post I looked up the Worldwide Church of God on the internet. Their doctrines don't look so bad; they seem pretty tolerant/accepting:
I came accross some outside sources that do seem to indicate that the Worldwide Church of God had/has some cultic qualities but has undergone some changes:
Even though I liked their doctrins, we don't have one close to us in a good area anyways.
I was raised Catholic and never saw them do it the way it was described in the Bible. I never went to a Thursday mass though... Hmmm.
hello my dear friends:.
i just wanted to let you know that my wife was admitted today to the hospital.
as you know she is 32 weeks pregnant with our son and unfortuanely, is very low on amniotic fluid.
Great! I'm glad all is going well...
Yes. They took me off work when I had low amniotic fluid and they told me to do nothing but lay on my side and drink lots of fluids. She's lucky to have you. I was a single mom at the time with a 3 year old to care for. It was a challenge but well worth doing whatever needs to be done to keep your little one safe.
My close friend's son was a preemie. He was born at 25 weeks - yikes! No steroid shots nothing... He was in the hospital for a time but he is also perfectly healthy.
Hang in there family

I also had low amniotic fluid with my son. Mine was not as low I don't think and it did not get noticed until 35 weeks. I had to keep going back every other day for the fetal stress tests and ultrasounds to measure the fluid. Everything came out fine in our case. Your wife is past 26 weeks, which is great! I hope your little one is able to stay in there a bit longer to get to 36 weeks but it's a good thing they are keeping an eye on things and if she delivers at this point your baby should be pretty well developed. I'll keep your family in my thoughts and please report back on their status.

Does anyone know if there is a religion that tries to re-enact the event as it is described in the Bible? Also, do you think it would be wrong to try to re-enact it on your own with your family? Is that, in fact, what Jesus had wanted? If so, how would you go about it?
