  tonights memorial

  a scripture was read during the talk i never thought of before, 1cor 11:26 which says:"for as often as you eat this loaf and drink this cup, you keep proclaiming the death of the lord, until he arrives.".

  if he arrived in 1914, why do we still "eat this loaf and drink this cup"?

  Hmm... Far as I know I was never taught that as a witness. I was taught he came with the clouds (as they would explain that meant out of site; blurred from vision) in 1914. They actually went to great lengths to show that the transfiguration actually proved that Jesus would come without everyone literally seeing him. I was not taught he would come again and all the eyes would literally see him. I always understood it that he came, he started ruling in heaven and he would eventually bring about Armageddon.

  I don't see it that way now but that's how I remember it as a Witness.

  Far as I'm concerned they have it all wrong, they say he'd already come and yet they still eat and drink. They say only the anointed should eat and drink and yet the Bible says if you don't eat and drink you have no life in you. And it always seemed to me they went to such lengths to get it right to apply the scriptures to the tee. Go figure! It's amazing how clear things become once you are no longer around to listen to their BS.

  My Update with the Memorial

  well....i went and i made it there just in time and i sat in the middle.

  i had my aunt and uncle save seats so i did not have to talk with anyone to get a seat.

  i sat down and i felt better .....i made it.

It is so funny My Husband says people just back off and stare at me like watching an accident in slow motion! I am Proud to be a Bitch! I did not say anything bad. I did not make a scene.

  You are awesome! I am so proud of you. It's nice to be in touch with your inner bitch isn't it! I have not yet tried mine out at the Kingdom Hall though. How liberating it must have been.

  It's so sad that sister is proud of spanking her little one for not sitting still quietly for a 45 minute blah blah blah talk (let alone the other meetings are 2 hours in length!). I remember a sister who used to spank her little baby for taking off her pretty little meeting hat to go with her pretty little meeting dress.

  i took evelyne a copy of everyones wonderful thoughts... she cried more than once.

  so, she saw the specialist just after lunch time.

  it looks like, after 3 liters of iv, she has gone from 4.7 to 14!

  we did.. we used to call them "memorial saints".

  they were the fringe members, the fallen away, the disfellowshipped, those who had their own private pipeline to jehovah, bible studies, good-will, disinterested husbands, delinquent kids, prophets, lunatics and uncle tom cobley and all.. in short, all the weirdo's that could be mustered together on just one night of the year.

  but it got the numbers up.

  I just always used to think, "Why bother?"

  Why just go to one meeting when you don't want to go to any of the others...

  Now I don't bother with the Memorial and I don't go to any of the other meetings so I guess in a way I still feel that way. But then I don't have relatives in "the troof". Just my ex and who wants to see or hear about his/her ex?

  the topic was the apocalypse and whether or not children will be slaughtered.

  through one side of his mouth, the po stated that the bible is not clear on the matter, while out the other side he pointed to all those old testament accounts where children were killed.

  Do you realize how many Godless parents there are in the world? Since those who survive Armageddon will be God-fearing people only, which, as you surely must agree are by far in the great minority, surely you don't expect that the survivors should shoulder the responsibilities that you yourself asked for when you lay there with your husband and agreed to conceive a child?

  Yes, there are plenty of godless parents in this world.

  I believe those who survive Armageddon (if there is an Arageddon) will be God-loving people and I believe there are plenty of people who love God. I do not believe that God loving people are by far in the great minority. IMO religion and the Bible would not be such hot topics if there were a shortage of God-loving people. Jesus would not be so well known...

  I have accepted the responsibilities of raising my children to love God and their neighbors. I know that there are some who do not take responsibility for their children. But I am shouldering my responsibility and yes I am willing to help raise other people's children should the need arise. I have no issues with that. I believe that God-loving people are selfless and not selfish.

  Jesus already shouldered the burden for all of us. He did not have to do that, I did not expect him to and yet he was truly selfless. He has already made it possible for Christians to enter the Kingdom of God regardless of age. It's our individual hearts that matter. It's our love for him and for God that matters.

  God has already made the provision for our salvation and I do not believe Jesus' sacrifice was discriminatory. It was for all mankind who chooses to benefit from it young and old.
