  I am so proud of my son.

  my dil called to tell me that she, my son and the children got dress to go to the meeting last night.

  they have been somewhat irregular in meeting attendance.

  she has been receiving constant pressured from her sister to attend.

  i had started to compose a list of common jw excuses and manipulative questions, and their retorts.

  Very good! I'm impressed since YOU were never a JW! I couldn't have come up with anything better and I was born and raised! They are too the point but not overly rude.... it's great to have a come back to a question with a question!

  Those are all such great responses. Wish I had them a few months ago when my family and I were getting harassed by the elders. No doubt I'll still be able to use some when I run into some old "friends". Thanks for sharing!

  I think some may leave the religion because of "hurt feelings" or a disagreement they may have with someone.

  I know at first I thought it was localized problem. That with time the issues would go away or God would step in. I had the misconception that by moving and going to another hall it would get better......

  You have to open your eyes and notice it's on a grander scale and this religion is just all around corrupt.

  Help With Insomnia

  i frequently have insomnia - but have found some help in getting back to sleep.. first, stop talking to yourself in your head!

  if you get up to go to the bathroom, don't allow any internal dialog.. second, try doing the "wave".

  you pretend that a gentle wave is moving your body in bed.

  what rebellious actions did you or other do in your congregation, not enough to be disfellowshipped, but went a little too far.

  sometimes we have to unwind .

  i remember sitting in a brothers car.

  HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS!!!!!!
  I sat NEXT to my boyfriend during the meetings and sometimes we would hold hands! LOL!

  Ohhh and I would sometimes wear skirts that were ABOVE my knees! Can't get any more rebellious than that!

  You've gotten some great suggestions already and I can't really add much more but a BIG WARM WELCOME!

  Just to reiterate, hold tight until you are 18. It seems like a long time, but I promise the 2 years will go by fast.

  Bottom line though, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do NOT give up on life. There is so much to enjoy when you DO break Free from this religion. Don't let them win....you are stronger than that!
