i've been reading this forum for a while and i felt it was time to post my experience.

i am very comforted when i read others experiences and how similar they are to mine, i don't feel alone.. anyway, i learned the truth in 97, got baptized in 98. all of sudden i was getting prvileges, parts on the ca and dc and had friends that seemed to care about me and i cared for them.

eventually the love started to cool off, the meetings felt like watching reruns of a bland tv show.

That is the key to winning your wife over. I have relatives still in the org. You have to work very slow and subtle. Otherwise they just tune you out. That is what we were all taught to do, so how can you blame them.

Being raised a witness has it's benefits...

i actually have several reasons why i don't resent my witness upbringing, but it sure came in handy today.. last year i posted about helping 50 kids run in the seattle kids marathon at my daughter's school.

the event was a blast and while it was a ton of work, seeing the joy on the kids' faces when they crossed the finish line made it all worth it.. this morning i spoke to the entire student body at my daughter's school at their monthly spirit assembly.

if i hadn't been raised a witness, giving talks from the time i was five, i never would have attempted such a thing.

Hmmmm.. I don't like this type of argumentation.

I'm sure there are benefits to becoming a terrorist too. Ya know, with all their training and what not. I'm sure they become disciplined and able to channel out the outside world. And they are really good at hiding things in their clothing.

Have any weird home remedies?

i was comparing notes awhile back with a friend, about some weird home remedies we were raised with and how often they do work.

what i was wondering, did you have any of these in your family and if so, what were they.

i will give you a couple of examples of my own.. for a cold, my mom would mix lemon juice, whisky and honey and warm them up and we would drink this as a home made cough syrup.

If you have a hard time dealing with stress---- include vitamin B complex in your diet.

If you can't sleep---- drink Chamomile tea---knocks ya right out. It's even safe for children and babies....

Have a problem with cold sores--- take Lysine ( an amino acid)

For sore throat-- mix HOT cayenne pepper in warm water and drink. Burns like hell for a little bit...but works great!

For a hang over-----drink Gatorade, even before you start feeling sick.

I should have some more, but can't think of them right now. My family is BIG into natural medicine and home remedies.

this was a post in the "friends" section but i think it's important and a really good idea.. but it's gonna get washed away by other topics... .

how about every lurker on here and all others spreading the news that unhappy jw's worldwide are to do a general boycott of all jw related activities (meetings, fs, etc) in for the entire month of february 2006. would be interesting to see what happens to the us average publishers for that month... come on just be irregular for one month!.
