Witness Indoctrination Tactics
by inbyathread inthough i'd show you a screen shot from a new computer program that witnesses can download.. notice that if they succeed in all the goals, all they get is a "good" otherwise it is listed as short.
even the owner of this program can't even give a little encouragement and some of the questions.
boy!

Hey - this is like a JW report card. Does it need to be signed by my parents?
Does it ask for demographic data?
That way, when you don't meet your spiritual goals, they can forward to the local elders!!

Do we "graduate" from the boards?
by wanderlustguy inclass of 2005 for me maybe?
i remember so many names fondly, and not the regular names most people name off every day like george or robert, etc, but strange sounding ones: .
skully, puternut, seven006, teh, richie rich, bigdog, dragonlady, jenniebeans, valis, prophecor, little toe, james thomas, sassy, defd, slipnslidemaster, alanf, brenda clouter (ok, that ones normal), hadenuff, buttlight, schne belly, stickypantz, p2k, incence and peppermints, whyamihere, devinsmom, harleyquinn, es, simon, eyegirl, joannadandy,i could go on all night, but the point is these people were in what i think i will call my school of real life graduating class.

Wanderlust,
My husband and I were honored to meet you over the past year…..we hope there are many more chances in the future to get together.
You were one of the first “apostates” we had an encounter with from this board. It was our first step into the real “world”. We were just on our journey out of the org at the time, and you helped tremendously. Meeting a friendly, well grounded individual such as yourself, encouraged us and helped us get to where we are at today. Thank you!
I wish I could just walk away from the boards, but it’s like trying to leave an old friend that you’ve come to care for very much, very hard even if you must do it for your own good.
I hope you never decide to leave; you bring so much to JWD. Your posts and comments are very insightful.

Making progress
by schne_belly inso here is an update from a previous thread i posted about my parents, especially my mother.
last night, my husband and i were eating dinner at my parents house and all of sudden my mom whips out her bible and tells us to sit down because she wants to share some scriptures shes been researching.
come to find out about a month ago some elders stopped over at their house to talk to them about us, and how to deal with a disfellowshiped person.

Dont worry - the rest of the local JW's do more then their fair share of shunning.
Funny, our family has the newspaper lined up, ready to go, when they announce of the DFing's Also, the local Fox News station (The newspaper gave us the contact info). Cant wait for it to hit the fan.

Hummmm Benny K and ButtLight....
I guess I can't speak for my parents. I've talked about our relationship with the 2 of you with my parents before. They don't seem to have a problem with it. How can they?
Butt-- I was honest with them about having you and your b-friend over next weekend....all my mom said was "Ohh, that's nice". Why lie? You are a great person.... and your friendship is greatly appreciated. My mom can't argue with the fact that pretty much all our "friends" from the hall have left us in the dust...so I'm going elsewhere for TRUE friends now.
Benny K....If you would get together with them, I would keep things lite. They are just tip toeing around on the "other side of the fence" right now.... but I do believe they are open to getting others opinions on matters. Nothing too deep though, If I even mention anything about 1914, or put down the elders, my mom shuts down .... I appreciate your willingness to help us "set them free".

Here are the main scriptures that my mom is basing her decision on.
John 13:35 -By this all will know that you are my disciples if you love one another. reasoning that shunning is unloving
1 Corinthians 10:29- the other man's conscience, I mean, not yours. For why should my freedom be judged by another's conscience? reasoning that everyone conscience is different and if her's allows her to talk to a DF'd person, people should respect that.
Matthew 7:1-Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
1 Tim 2:3-4 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
Luke 7:36-39 referring to the pharisees who wouldn't eat with a sinner, but Jesus did.
1 Peter 2:12 12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.
1 John 4:1 1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world
