Is there one thing that keeps you from going back?
by nsrn ini had email contact this week for the first time with an old boyfriend--haven't seen him in 28 years!
i'm trying to compose an answer...there are a hundred reasons why i will never go back, but how to sum it up?
i'm thinking along the lines of "i just don't believe that the society/gb is god's representative on earth" and see if he presses further.. suggestions, anyone?.

Oh ya - I was the Botchtower reader one Sunday.
The paragraph talked about a scripture that shows "Jehovah would rock the nations and all the desirable things of all the nations would come in and fill gods house with glory" and how that was happening in our day.
As I was reading that - I thought, man if these people are the "desirable things" - I can't even imagine what the un-desirable things are.
Give me a break.... I was barely able to finish the paragraph.

Strange paradox - the ' weakest' J Dubs were in a way the most hardcore.
by Gregor ini knew many of them.
some in my own family.
they were the ones considered spiritually weak because they:

So true Gregor -
it seems there are JW 'socializers' - those who know nothing about doctrine, and could care less when you show them inconsistencies in WT belief. These individuals are very difficult to get out of the cult.
Those that study, believe and live what they are taught, seem more affected by contradictions in WT thought.

Witnessing at the WalMart in Evansville, Indiana(pics)

My response to WalMart
Sirs,
It has come to my attention that Jehovah's Witnesses were permitted to peddle their cult message in front of a WalMart in Evansville, Indiana. This is rather disturbing to me, a WalMart customer. This cult hides known pedophiles, even allowing them to knock on doors where children may be present. This cult also practices extreme shunning of former members, whereby no contact is to be made with individuals who leave – including close family members.
I am confident that you were not aware of this practice or would not have permitted this to take place in front of one of your stores.
Thank you for your time, -

Just a quick jw question
by nevaagain inokay, i got this thing going on.
i already posted something about it a few weeks ago.
i know i am on a thin line and i know i could probably get df'ed if i continue my path, but i dont think i want to leave this org yet.
-
schne_belly
well maybe i am too naive but i still believe that we havent done anything wrong yet
Dude, you just answered your own question! This is between you,the girl and God. It's no one else business.... ..and as of now, it sounds to me like your conscience isn't bothering you. Don't let someone tell you it does! Don't beat yourself up for being human!
Just be smart about your actions if you choose to take the relationship further.... You don't want someone getting hurt.

Are you at peace with God?
by JH in.
by telling us that we shall be destroyed at armageddon, and that we live a life that god doesn't approve of, the jw's are trying to make us believe that we are at odds with god.. were they successful?
-
schne_belly
Yes, I feel I am at peace with God.
Surprisingly, It didn't take long after leaving the religion to loose the feeling of "guilt". I think I am closer to him now that I ever was, I think it's because I am worshiping him on my own terms now....
