  wow, what a testimony she gave.

  she is one tough cookie to have gone through what she did.. her rapist, brian mitchell, appears to have been lds offshoot.

  not only did he rape elizabeth every day, he wanted to kidnap her cousin.

  When I saw the topic of this thread, the first thing I thought is she is one tough gal!!

  I met some missionaries that came to my door shortly after I quit going to meetings and that is what they told me, they had little contact with their family. They missed it, but they knew it was only temporary. BUT, I thought only the men could do the missionary work.

  I wonder if the alarm bells are ringing in her head, like the alarm bells went off in our JW heads.

  Obama's post midterm election press conference was profound to me

  i voted for the first time this last november 2nd.

  it was a glorious day for me and a historical election.. after i voted i felt like i was standing up for what i believe in, and that's listening to the people.

  because that's what voting is, the people's voice, and it can overturn the country.. it was such a stark contrast to what i am used to in the watchtower.

  Thanks for your comments,

  I don't want to have an ongoing fight with my children,

  I want to love them, guide them, support them, teach them, enjoy them.

  It's not fun and games all the time,

  but we are a family. It's my family.

  My responsibility.

  The way they live their life is their choice,

  my always being their mother is not.

  I saw the torment my youngest daughter went through

  trying to be a teenage JW. I think it scarred me worse than her.

  But, I could not help but share the comment that went with it.

  Heres the text:

  Wednesday, November 3 Those who [marry] will have tribulation in their flesh.—1 Cor. 7:28. The “tribulation” may involve health problems for the couple, their children, or their aging parents. It may also involve difficulties and heartaches connected with the rearing of their children. The Bible foretold that “the last days” would bring “critical times hard to deal with.” Among the things hard to deal with would be children who are “disobedient to parents.” (2 Tim. 3:1-3) Rearing children is a serious challenge for Christian parents. We are not shielded from the adverse effects of the current “critical times.” Hence, Christian parents have to wage an ongoing fight against the pernicious influence that “the system of things of this world” can have on their children. (Eph. 2:2, 3) And the battle is not always won! In case a son or a daughter of a Christian family stops serving Jehovah, it is, indeed, “tribulation” for parents who have tried to raise him or her in God’s truth.—Prov. 17:25. w08 4/15 4:14, 15

  Anyone else here with ADD/ADHD?

  i have had this problem all my life.

  i have a child that also has it.

  since people with adhd have a problem fitting into organizations do you think it may be one of the reasons why you just couldn't take the jw's any more.
