  Does anyone feel that their abilty 2 make money has been influenced by WT?

  we were told so many times that we were slaves 2 not only god but anyone in a secular position of authority.

  so i feel that this only encouraged a subordinate and non confortational attitude with our employers.

  almost 2 the point that that even those of us who are self employed never get 2 develope the killer instinct that is needed 2 compete in the business world.

  Hey, You are a good man and helped many people, including me. You know how to build computers, you built mine! You made the sacrifices at a young age for what you thought was right. You developed skills you can use now. All I can say, is with the same effort in business, the same principles, the same drive you will succeed.

  Its like being an overnight success............it never just happens......but there is many years of hard work involved.

  Not too long after I was baptised I told experiance at assembly about being in subjection to superiour authorities. That was almost 20 years ago and it was all downhill after that.

  I would not have a very impressive resume in the JW org.

  I think the worse thing they teach........is what they don't teach.

  They don't really teach us to explore, envelope, love.........enjoy, use our god given talents, celebrate who we are as individuals.

  They teach us to be paranoid, scared, cynical, strange, close minded, ignorant, exteme, unsocialable, and I could go on but I know you get the point.

  I can't believe the joy they take out of peoples lives by not teaching us to spread our wings. They teach us to ignore our inner selves and listen only to them. They take away natural growth, progression and desires in people.

  All the wrong dates, doctrone, misinterpretation of scriptures compares to how they destroy the very fiber of people being. To a point that it takes untold time to undo what they stole from us.

  Why is an elder removed?

  there is an elder at my hall that was removed last week.. he was not df, he still is in good standing.

  he did not request it.. how can an elder be removed?.

  what is the process?.

  The Most Unkind Cut From An Elder/ MS..

  "you're a brand rescued from the burning..in israel you would have been stoned to death..get down on your hands and knees, get your head hard down on the carpet and beg jehovah for forgiveness".. they don't tell you about that sort of thing when you first have a bible study.. englishman.. .

  At the time my daughter was studying, trying to reach out. We kept encouraging her to talk to this elders niece. She said........she really don't want to have anything to do with me. We thought my daughter was just being difficult.

  It got back to me that this elder told his niece that my daughter was not good association and not to hang around with her. Based on what?????????

  It killed my heart.

  My daughter has only been to two meetings since that comment. I don't blame her.

  Tone of the current literature

  i haven't started a thread in some time but this is something that has got me thinking.

  i want to know if i'm off-base here or if others have noticed this too.is.. over the last several months (perhaps 6-9) i feel that the tone of the wts and kms have been very strong.

  not strong in the sense of legalistic do's and don'ts but strong in the sense of do more!!!!

  As I look around I think, 'man everyone is completely separate from each other living their own lives and only interacting with each other at the hall or perhaps elders meetings.'

  I think there is a huge distrust among those in the congo. The Society's expectations are so high, and there is so much pretense. Who wants to be with others that make you feel uncomfortable?

  Also, so many people just do not have time for relationships......Most are busy working, keeping a home, yards, kids, grocery shopping, going to the doctor...etc etc......... When does anyone have time to relax and socialize. Since the time is so sparce for this, I would think being very selective would be the norm.

  There's no chance he asked to be removed purple?

  NO........I asked.

  I know at one time we were talking about a part at an assembly I had.......and I was saying how the speaker was really rewording my answers. And then this elder told me that he would not do parts using his experiances if he could not use his own words and answers.

  he will not say prayers

  he said the closing prayer the night it was announced.

  He is not going to let them give him any elder duties. It seems like they wanted him out for some reason.....but wanted to keep him to help out in some areas. (helping with book study)

  I just have never been at any hall where an elder was DF or deleted.
