looks like it is time to remind the flock that jwd is deathdealing.

this week service meetings are recycling old kingdom ministry articles regarding the danger of electronic communication such as the internet and email.. .

like i heard at a recent circuit assembly, "don't let your mouse turn you into a rat!".

Since they seem to know so much of what goes on in cyberland, then they obviously know what everyones concerns are.

I think it would have been alot better to just address the issues........instead of such a lengthy bunch of bull crap, what a waste of time and typing.

The issues of child abuse and how they are making people feel? About the UN thing? About changing the wording in bound volumes and the WTcd to coverup and benefit them?

Why not address why so many witnesses are online, trying to find companionship that they can't get in their own congregations. Not going out to the "world" but genuinely talking about how lonesome they are and how it is killing them inside? Why so many are online looking for potential marriage mates, I mean the only hope most have is at a convention........and then there is counsel the whole time to pay attention to the meeting and you got signs to tell people to be quiet and please be seated in the halls!

If people were taken care of within the organization they are in, there is no need to go elsewhere. I managed websites for witnesses......good people looking for companionship. If you deny that long enough to someone they will find in somewhere!!!!

It is amazing how many will comment at the KH, like experts on computers and internet that would not even know the first thing about turning one on, let alone know how to surf!!!! Just from the information in this article.

Why not just be truthful and say.......you are gonna see these things online........let us address this for you, so as to answer your questions?

Are You or Were You Ever On Meds For Depression?

i know so many people, not just witnesses that are on zoloft or similar drugs.

i know of some that, once they left the "truth", stopped taking these meds and have not had to go back on them.

i know of some that, if they did not have them, would not be able to properly function......what about you?

I have been on lexapro for almost 4 weeks now. There was an adjustment but I rather like it right now. I was having a hard time not going to the meetings anymore and in a transition, so felt like I wanted it. I probably could have done ok without it .......but I remember the mess I went through when I was DF, and did not want to deal with fading without a HELPER. I did not know what might surface, with losing faith in the organization. I hope I will only use it temporarily but if I need it long term I am ok with it.

I think if something were official......a DA or DF announcement, I would not take it well emotionally at all.

The lexapro seems to give me more energy as well.

My daughter was having alot of anxiety, thinking about dieing (you know those upbuilding meetings) and she is taking it as well and going to a counselor. But, stopping the meeting attendance has helped enormously. Sad how the society's counsel makes so many feel bad, and then swear they are the happiest people on the earth!!!! So many witnesses are suffering from depression.

Obliteration of the ego

at long last i feel i have come to a great spiritual truth: the human ego stands as an impediment towards self-realization and must be obliterated, or at least diminished.

i have seen this as a running thread throughout many of the readings i have done -- from buddha and shankara to meister eckhart to arch-skeptic and atheist dr. albert ellis, the idea is to get beyond this concept of i. .

what freedom this could be!

I understand what you are saying...........I say doing away with all that outside stuff is getting to the CORE of a being.

I think it is pretty awesome.

Retail Workers - Share your horror stories!

calling all retail workers...we all have hooror stories...what are some of yours?

I have worked retail most of my adult life.........I was selling furniture.

This couple comes in and picks out about $6,000.00 worth of furniture and a big screen TV (Hitachi)

We go to close the sale and he goes out to his vehicle and comes back with a paper bag.

You paying with cash?

Yes, he says.

So I have to go into the main office at the conference table and count this money out .........in mostly

twenties!!!!!!!!! I am cracking up and say to him........What is this DRUG MONEY!!!???? just joking around.......

Well, about a year later the FBI and Drug task something contact us about this mans purchase, yeah he was busted for a big drug operation and all that merchandise was being confiscated.

Oh well, I have tons more, but counting out that amount of money in twenties was a trip!

There is not one mention of the sacrifices, the struggles.........nothing upbuilding for the audience. No thank-you's....... nothing. It sounds like the audience is getting scolded.....and I am sure it was an insult to many peoples intelligence, given the letters that went to the GB about the UN and other questions they were asking.

I can see myself getting an attitude when I hear talks like this.

What do elderly people have that young people don?t? Experience! So, we must be submissive.

Nothing about being smart.....My kids are respectful of older people, but not submissive, what an odd choice of words. This is how kids get into trouble, blindly told to be submissive.

Would you change your past if you could?

i used to live with many regrets, thinking that i'd screwed up.

recently, i've been thinking that regretting past actions is not constructive.

sure, we should base our current actions by assessing the results of our former actions, but regretting decisions we've made is, in effect, yearning to change the person we are now or rejecting ourselves.

If I could change anything in my past it would be, not marrying at 18 the man I married.

I do like who I am now.......but feel like I had to come full circle to gain back what I lost at 18 and my marriage to him.

I think it would have been nice to not know about spousal physical abuse, an alcholic, gambler, womanizer, total betrayal, and the effect it had on my life and my childrens life. His treatment of me was the very reason for looking for a way out, leading me to find the truth, which is another decision I made that I have to root out.

So, early on in life I made a decision I do regret, but I don't live in constant feeling of regret. I learned from all my mistakes, yeah, you make them and learn from them and go on.

Just would have been nice to not have to go through it all.

for an oldie i'd pick audrey hepburn singing moon river ... mmnnnn, i never get tired of that.. currently i'm listening to norah jones an aweful lot.

she is very easy on the ears and is my "audible-heaven" right now.. so who's voice makes you 'melt' ?

John Mayer - adorable boy next door with those big puppy dog eyes and soulful voice. And his fingers on that guitar. *sigh* He's actually a very underrated guitarist.

I agree, I saw him in concert last summer. His guitar playing is awesome. He is so different live. Why Georgia....mmmmmm....... He said he wanted to be a great guitar player but did not think he would be a Stevie Ray Vaughan, so he did the singing to also get to guitar play.

If you can ever see him live it is awesome!!!!!

Dave Matthews Band too! Love his voice ..........He is short cute guy. Love to hear him sing

Blood Directive card and the inactive

recently got a visit from the elders after 2 years of being inactive.

my question is "has any of you fellow "inactivites" ever been offered a new bdc on a visit.. if the issue is so "ever lasting" life important wouldn't the elders at least ask if yours was up to date?

that's assuming they are still handed out.. just asking cause i was in a serious car accident that made the local papers.

I was told by an HLC member that they and the WTS would not give support on the blood issue to an inactive JW.

Makes me think of a sister I know engaged to an inactive brother in Canada......He was in a trucking accident and died from refusing blood. So he may have become inactive....(for his job) but in the end he held true to the teachings. One of the saddest stories I ever heard.

Your statement makes me think how judgemental the people are taught to be and it really is sickening.

i consider jehovahs witnesses to be a cult, or at least a high control group (cult-like).. i recognise within myself some side effects of having been a jw.

Questions about JW

i'm not a jw i just want to know more about your doctrines and stuff.. do you get disfellowshipped by talking to a worldly person if so why?.

how can u jw's live without speaking to people you love who r not jw?.

Evanescence is from Ltittle Rock, Arkansas .....close to where I live!!!! A doc I work for lives in the house one of the band members grew up in. I think his dad was a lawyer. Don't know which band member it is though.
