  ive never really been convinced that there is subliminal images in watchtower artwork, but my daughter pointed out something in the revelation climax book last week that seems to real to be a co-incidence.

  i don't have the book here with me right now, but on page 186 (maybe, not sure of the exact page number) there is a picture of a red dragon with the many heads and around it are small pictures of different things.

  one of which is some smokestacks in an industrial complex.

One of which is some smokestacks in an industrial complex. In the smoke cloud there is what appears to be the clear image of the left side of a face. It looks real clear. Did anyone else notice?   i do however have first hand experience of it by being a victim of it.

  how does the wts begin to excercise control over one's mind?

  Hey Child, Thanks for posting. You are correct that a faithful JW wouldn't purchase a painting. That was the whole point of my suggestion. To illustrate that there's something wrong with the thought process. Here's an alternative, the next time you and family are in a hospital or some other place where "worldly" paintings are hanging, perhaps you could find one that appeals to you and point it out to your wife or daughter and say something like I wonder if Jesus really looked like that. Just a suggestion. The more experience you get with controversy's like this the more you will start to see the mind control. seek2find

  Hey Seeker4, its hard to believe that that guy said that about everything 10 years old or more. I make me wonder why he even believes any of it if it will be different in 10 years anyway. I wonder why the KH's even have a library with all that old literature. It really is their worst enemy. Several years ago I remember a speaker at a Circuit Assembly, saying that one of the Governing Body once said that every time he had a doubt about the "Truth" he would go back and read some in the "Studies in the Scriptures" I almost started laughing out loud. No one else there even thought anything about it. Because they were not familiar with anything they (The studies) said. This religion is like a game of musical chairs. When the music stops you just grab a belief. seek2find

  In my life time as a witness, there have been many changes and there are still more to come. Like the "Generation" change in the Feb study edition of the WT. My question is this. If this is the truth, why all the changes?. In the 1970s we had the Truth book and the 6 month study program, then in the 80s we had the Live Forever book, followed by a study in the "United in Worship" and the 6 Month thing was dropped. Then we had the Knowledge book, and the 6 month thing was kinda re-instuited, and now we have the "Bible teach" book. So in my short life we have had 4 different changes in teaching aids, but we still have the same Bible. My thoughts are that real truth doesn't change. If something changed it must have not been true to start with. seek2find

  You have a good point here. I have a little something to add. If any Lurking JW doesn't believe what you are saying, I have an experiment for them. Go to somewhere that sells art work, and purchase a Picture of Jesus done by a famous (Non-JW) artist and take it home and put it on the living room wall and see if you don't get a puzzled look the next time one of your JW friends come over. You don't have to say anything. Just the fact that you have a non JW art work Of your Lord and Savior on the wall will send a negative message to your friends. If you have the courage to do this experiment,You might not be as programed as some others are. Chance are tho, especially if you are a lifelong witness, you will be horrified at even the thought of having such an picture in your possession. The implications of cult mind control are very evident in the everyday life of the witnesses. Just my thoughts. seek2find

  I haven't seen much discussion on it here, but Ray Franz made a good point on his recent trip to Romania in his talk where he pointed out that in the Parallel account in Luke chapter 12 that the Faithfull servant there is broken down into individuals with one receiving many strokes and the other receiving few. It doesn't fit with the Slave being a class. seek2find

  Ive been thinking for some time now that it would be useful to have a side by side comparison of the Revelation Climax book and the Finished Mystery book, so we can compare what was taught in 1919 (The year of the supposed inspection) and Today. That would be a powerful tool to show how, Christ couldn't have inspected the Organization and found it to be providing food at the proper time. Because it's so different than that taught today. seek2find

  A really good movie for XJWs to appreciate

  just out on dvd, "the lives of others" subtitled german.

  a fact based story of big brother in east germany under the soviet secret police, the stasi.

  chilling to realize it is all based on fact.

  For me (a person still in) I thought "Castaway" with Tom Hanks was good. His life on the Island is kinda like life in this cult, especially the part where he tries to get off the island and gets severely hurt and has to return. I feel trapped in this life with no good way out. Even the part where he gets depressed and tries to hang himself is symbolic of a witnesses depressed state at times. When he finally gets back home and his wife has remarried and everything has changed is like when ones get re-instated, but it's just not the same. His life on the Island with it's isolation, to me was really symbolic of life in This JW cult. seek2find
