I'm white, from Alabama originally but haven't lived there in the last 30 years. I moved west when I was 16. Been here ever since. I don't think I have a southern accent. I probably won't be visiting Alabama much any more. All my family are witnesses there, and since I was disfellowshipped a few months back they want nothing to do with me. I'll miss them, but I'm not going back to the un-truth. seek2find

Will the Organization fall apart?
by BonaFide inmajor changes in meetings, the weird drama this year, and just people reading on the internet, are causing a lot to leave the organization, or just fade.
is it possible that, just like a house of cards, the whole thing will fall apart soon?
i mean, this may be wishful thinking, but is it possible that people will start to dissassociate themselves in bigger numbers, then groups and families will do so, then bigger and bigger groups of friends will do it, and then people who hear about this will check on the internet and then do the same thing, then congregations have to be dissolved and merged, then the talks start getting meaner, and that makes even more people quit, then thousands start to leave.. possible?.

I think there is a partial if not total collapse coming. To many things are happening that don't seem fixable. Its like a rotten fence that is continually being repainted to keep it looking nice, but the paint does nothing to stave off the eventual collapse. The corruption is there and it doesn't seem to be going away. I think more events like the one that happened this last weekend in Bates city Mo. will happen. The more they happen, the more difficult it will be to keep them quite, a snowball effect will take place and who knows what will happen. People need to get out while there is still time. You lurkers, now is the time to educate yourselves and if you still believe in God, ask his guidance, he will help if you ask. seek2find

*** Your thoughts on Apostate Literature ***
by FlyingHighNow inwhen they'd warn us at every circuit assembly not to read apostate literature, remember how they'd tell us if we received it in the mail, to throw it away immediately?
what thoughts went through your mind?.
mine were: "i don't think i can throw it away.

As far back as I can remember, the words "Don't look at apostate literature" didn't set well with me. I kinda always in the back of my head was thinking "If this is the truth, what difference does it make?" In fact wouldn't it strengthen a persons faith to read opposing literature to find out what things they were wrong about? I found out in 1995-1996 what the Society was afraid of when I secretly read Crisis of Conscience. It then all made sense why they were so desperate to keep witnesses away from apostate Literature. Although apostate literature varies widely in quality, almost all of it exposes things the society would rather keep hidden. So I have a challenge to you lurkers. If you have the truth, what are you afraid of? Isn't the truth stronger than lies? What contains the truth? The Society's literature, or apostate literature? Why was the work of Jehovah's witnesses restricted in Mexico for so many years? The real truth on this mater will reveal that they Voluntarily registered with the Government there as a "Cultural Organization" rather than a Christian religion. They did so because doing so allowed them to own property there. A religion with property had to put the property in trust with the government. Registering the way they did, they brought the restrictions on themselves. seek2find

What were you "done" for?
by Amha·aret injust wondering what the most unusual or flippant reasons are for people being booted from the cong.
i know the org makes out that almost everyone who is ousted is guilty of fornication but they're hardly going to say that people are leaving coz of all the lies, deceit and propoganda they spin!
if your "crime" was apostacy, what exactly happened?

I was given the boot in March of this year (2008) at 50 years of age (all those as a witness). My crime was looking to Jesus as the ultimate authority, not the Watchtower society. I was told "You want to live in the spiritual Paradise but you don't want to pay the rent" And also that "a little disloyalty to the organization is like a little disloyalty to your marriage mate". "None is acceptable". To me it all came down to this issue. Who do I want to follow? Christ or the Organization? I choose the former, and I'm proud to have stood for something and someone who doesn't change and isn't harsh and cruel. I miss family and friends, but I'm confident I'll never be alone. Questions on Assembly to help wife critically think
by insearchoftruth ingood afternoon,.
my wife is going to be attending the assembly in hampton, va this weekend and was wondering if there are any questions that i could ask her in advance to help her critically think about what is being said?.
it has been a while since she has attended either a meeting or a dc, so will be sort of like being hit anew with this stuff, but i think she has done a few bs with the pesky sister in the meanwhile, though she is being quite silent about it.. .

Insearchof ask: What day? Sunday would be best, the drama and the last talk will make it possible for you to ask some serious questions. Like: "With all the good accounts we have in the Bible, why is there a need to add to it a fictional account? And in regard to the last talk you might ask: Do you really believe the Organization deserves our Loyalty? Where do we find that concept in the Bible? seek2find

Hi, Ask her to count the number of times she hears the term "God's organization" or "Jehovahs organization" in the last talk on Sunday. Witnesses like to point out that the word Trinity doesn't appear in the Bible, but neither does the terms for the organization. It's a glaring in-consistancy that drives me crazy. But on a positive note about the assembly, the Symposium on Sunday morning about the fruits of the spirit was good, at least at the convention I went to. seek2find

What's up with this????
by seek2find inat this weekends convention july 4-6 it was announced that donations by check must be made out to the "christian congregation of jehovah's witnesses", and that if you had made one out to watchtower you should go to the chairmans office and change it.
why the change this year, and what difference does it make?
seemed strange to me, of course many things seem strange to me about this religion these days seek2find

Jamie Bowers, I'm not still in, I just went as an observer with my Family. My wife and Daughter deposited checks that were made out to Watchtower and then they were hunted down by one of the elders and told they had to change the Payee. I was disfellowshipped in March for Apostasy, because I believe Jesus is the only hope for salvation not the Watchtower Society. I also do not believe the Faithful slave teaching, nor do I believe the 2 class system or the 1914 Christ presence teaching. That's just to name just a few doctrines I no longer believe . seek2find

Hi James, Thanks for your input. I wonder if maybe they may be expecting to have to file bankruptcy at some point and are trying to get good at juggling funds to avoid loosing large amounts in case of a class action suit or other legal action. There has to be a reason, just not sure. seek2find

I really relate to you in your position and contrary to what others have said here, I believe the witnesses do have a lot of things right. It's like the illustration I heard once about a very effective rat poison. It contained about 97 Percent nutritious corn meal and only about 3 percent stricknine (or arsenic, i don't remember which) I think that's a good analogy because the Society insist that you swallow the whole 100 percent resulting in sure spiritual death. So my advice, don't throw away everything you learned as a witness, just learn to separate the real truth from the poison. And most of all keep praying, and asking God for his guidance. If I can be of any help PM me anytime. I feel for you, I've been where you are. It's frightening. I know. seek2find
