most hated analogies

we've already got some "most hated" threads on here, like "most hated bible verse" or "most hated meeting", don't know if there's another thread on metaphors/analogies.

one of the most used analogies used is the "jehovah's like a loving father holding your hand and leading you, you can trust him like a little child trusts his father".

i don't know how often i heard that one.

This reminds me of something that my brother told me the other day though. This is slightly off topic.
Evidently he gave my father some money to help my folks make it to the district convention and my brother mentioned to my dad that he would have to tell his wife about the money.
My dad quoted to him the scripture about "not letting your left hand know what your right hand is doing"
To which my brother replied, that his wife, in that case might follow the scripture:
"If your right hand is making you stumble, cut it off."

just to let you know that at last... ellie gave birth to baby girl over the weekend; georgia weighed 8lb 10oz and both baby and mother are fine....i thought you might like to send your congratulations to her and her partner.. .

Congratulations Ellie & Family !!!!!!

She's a beauty. My son was 8lbs 10ozs at birth also. The biggest of my three children. He is now almost 16 and has never been obese. So, you did good mom. Georgia's got a good healthy start with that birth weight.

Enjoy her as much as you can, as often as you can, for as long as you can while she is young. They grow up so fast.

next week dansk (ian) is going into the hospital to start chemotherapy.

although i wish i would have thought of this before--ian mentioned on this week's vigil thread it would lift his spirits to receive cards from us on the forum.
