The committee meeting is like a court hearing!!!!!!!!!! You have 7 day's to "appeal" their disicion. Does the committee have a right to change their minds, or do you actually have to go in front of another body of elders?

by JustTickledPink ini ran into a young jw i hadn't seen in probably 12 years, anyways, she was the presiding overseer's daughter, perfect little jw... she's now 25 yoa, she is still an active witness and in fact a sympathizer to their crap but dressed in a low cut top, belly showing, carrying a beer, trolling for guys out a hot spot on a friday night with a "worldly" friend.. she talked to me for 5 mins and told me she had been df'd for a year but how horrible it was, she is reinstated and doing good..... but everything about her looks said she wasn't a good little jw.. i think more and more hypocrites are being raised in the organization.
i wouldn't be able to stand leading a double life, i would much rather be honest and not hiding who and what i am... but there are more young jws, including ones i would never suspect, that are jws by day, and regular people at night.
i think they are falling into the "sunday morning christians" mentality and carrying tons of guilt around with them.. i just wish they would wake up.

went to a meeting tonight !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
by vitty ini went to my first meeting in 9 months (dont ask ive got my reasons cant say on an public board).
they reviewed a wt july 1st page 12----19. it was saying that you should have concern for people who are spiritually weak you should remember all the good things they had done in the past.
even if they wernt going to meetings anymore.

the elders will tolerate doubts regarding WTS teachings, but they will not tolerate conclusions that are contrary to what the WTS teaches.
This reminds me of when a brother and sister knocked on my door several weeks ago. I told them that I truely dont understand why we cant celebrate birthdays. Just because two people were beheaded way back then, doesnt me we do that now. His response was "dont you find it more special to receive a gift for no reason, than one you are expecting on your bithday?" I said yes, it is, but that still doesnt mean we cant get one on our birthday! Nice biblicle response I got, Hey? Oh yeah, he did say that if we were suppose to celebrate them, Jesus birth would have been recorded in the bible. Hmmm I dont recall anyones wedding aniversary recorded either, but thats ok to celebrate.

Your right about that. I wonder what they would have done if I went and got married right away and told them! Not all elders think alike. Then, I might have gotten time to quit smoking. If I do go back, I'll be riding the same fence as alot of them in my family! hmmmmmmm what to do, what to do LOL Oh well, enough about that, thanks for all your advice!

Sooooooo Im screwed no matter what!!! LOL
The only thing I could do is stop what Im doing now, and wait for them to decide to reinstate me. But what Im worried about, is if I did decide to do that, what if it took 3 years for them to do that? Thats how long it took my brother to get reinstated. Crazy! He only missed 5 meetings in that 3 year period.

Cindy, why not just lie about running off and getting married in Vegas or something. As far as I know no one has ever requested a copy of a marriage certificate
I was just explaining to someone else the fact that even If I were married, and didnt smoke right now, I would still get df'd. My uncle is an elder, and he explained that I have been living a life of sin for 15 years. And I am a baptised witness. So I cant go without being disaplined.

They dont give you time anymore!!!!!!!!!! That must have been an olden day rule. I told them I was trying to quit, and that we would get married, it didnt matter. They couldnt let me go associate with the lifestyle im living. (living with fiance)

I am going to be disfellowshipped, so that I cant do anything about. I cant appeal it, its been over a week. But........My family keeps telling me to hang in there, if I straighten out my situation, it would be a short term DF. But, my family also told me before I went to the elders meeting that I would not be disfellowshipped. No way no how. So I went in thinking the worst would be a public reproof. Man, was I floored with their decision! Now Im just bitter I guess. Maybe it will pass, or maybe not.

Three days and counting for my df. I would have to quit smoking and get married before they would consider reinstating me. And then of course the period of time it takes before they are done punishing me.4-6 months.
