  Remembering that we are dust.......

  today i was studing for tonights book study lesson.

  i got hung up on this paragraph.

  i don't know why but something about the wording just does not sound right.

  i got hung up on this paragraph.

  i don't know why but something about the wording just does not sound right.

  Today I was studing for tonights Book Study lesson. I got hung up on this paragraph. I don't know why but something about the wording just does not sound right. I thought Adam was perfect.....made from dust. I know it is crazy but this paragraph to me is saying because we were made from dust we have imperfections. Sounded like we were all set up to me. We are made of dust, we are frail and imperfect....I am Jehovah and I recognize that. Why didnt he make us out of something stronger????? grrrrrrr
  
  Here is the paragraph~
  
  Jehovah is aware of our limitations. "He himself well knows the formation uf us, remembering that we are dust," says Psalm 103:14. He does not forget that we are creatures of dust, having frailties, or weaknesses, as a result of imperfection. The expression that he knows "the formation of us" reminds us that the Bible likens Jehovah to a potter and us to the clay vessels he forms."
  (jeremiah 18:2-6) The Great Potter tempers his dealing with us according to the frailty of our sinful nature and the we respond or fail to respond to his guidance.

  We are robots wound up daily......believing that missing a meeting will run our "battery" down and then we die.
  I think we must work harder on our 5 minute little parts than the elders do on theirs. I know we are using more creativity. Thank goodness for that!

  Are boxer briefs gay???

  i was just watching a sit-com and someone made a reference to boxer briefs as being a sign a guy is gay.

  i like boxer briefs!

  they are the best of both worlds... a combination of boxers and briefs.

  I'm kinda sick to my stomach right now too!
  I wnt to the meeting this am, We had a visiting speaker, but he is from the hall I learned the truth in 20 yrs ago. The talk was on entertainment, and the counsel was strong on what we should and should not be doing and esp towards the youth. I was wishing once he would have mentioned how none of his kids(3) came in the truth. Probably from lack of entertainment.
  But all through his talk nothing sounded original, spontanious, heartfelt at all.
  And no wonder, we can't even pray without being told what to say. Every closing prayer from every elder sounds the same. Like thay are freaking scared to say anything that deviates from what everyone says and thinks. I would love to once hear.......Thank you for ending the meeting short today........now let's go eat!!!! sorry.....I am a bit ticked right now.
  The more I read the posts and now I am reading WT for today. I am sick of hearing about allegiance to the FDS and wonder if they really think about being like Jesus at all.

  yawn, bore, blah.................come on guys, jw's are getting pretty dusty here, where's the zest on this board ?

  tell your relatives, friends, etc: hey, you were part of the u.n., the watchtower bible & tract society owned a majority of stock in a jw company that had military contracts, the organization that you represent was false prophesying that the world was going to end in the 1800s through the 1900s, and when you can prove to me otherwise, than maybe i'll talk to you.

  these guys are just going along with the program because they've gone along this far and they don't know what else to do with their lives because all of their acquaintances are part of this organization and their lives are almost up.............................to turn completely against this organization would be declaring defeat of their very lives.

  I wanted to let you all know, that from coming here and reading the different posts, I went to Barnes & Noble last night and ordered COC and the other one, (sorry can't think of name right now)
  
  I have alot of friends that are hurting from organizational decisions. I always wondered why I felt like I was on the outskits could never actually jump in.
  
  My 17 yr old daughter refused to go to the meetings, she was hurt too. Judgemental elders, crazy sisters. I brought her up to think (isnt that what we were supposed to be doing) and I love her and especially her spirit. And could not in good conscience let her be further suppressed. Maybe now she can have some kind of normal adult life.
  
  I am not sure what I am going to do, but I know with each little chapter in my life the "truth" takes on different meanings. I remember going to a counseller early on in being a witness and feeling as though I was not going to be able to get the witnesses to see me any differently than they did at that time. He said "you can outgrow a congregation" Maybe we can outgrow the whole organization. I am finding it hard to believe, but maybe that is true. From learning from the witnesses it has helped me alot. And I have found many to be very loving, giving people. But I do see the other side to.
  
  I just wanted you to know that I ordered the books and look forward to reading about the organization from this other perspective. If nothing else, I will be informed if ever confronted.
