  i'm glad god never granted my "wish" for a husband while i was still in the org.

  i'd be hurtin' a lot more right now if i was married/involved.

  I am so happy that my wish and prayer for my entire family to become Jehovah's Witnesses was not granted. Oh, my god, what a horror it would be trying to get them out now. Thank you, God.

  You are quite welcome, Dave. And you have a good sense of humor to keep you going. I started lurking here about a year ago myself and came on board in April of this year. I always feel better communicating with real people who understand what it feels like to be away from the Witnesses.

  Bad jobs in the new system

  everybody pictures the new system as a paradise, but i'm sure that there will be lousy jobs, just like today.. well, some will be garbage men, picking up the trash house to house.

  not too pleasing for a new system job.. name other lousy jobs some will have to do even in the new system.

  Finally-free, you are so funny! I am still laughing at your post. I remember looking at those kind of pictures in the Watchtower magazines and thinking, it's beautiful, but is it dull?

  i liked a post by terry walstrom a few days ago about the watchtower and asked him to tailor it for jws and others who email me, saying i am "just bitter about the watchtower and what they did to me.

  " i get several a week.

  so now i have a page to lead them to for a perfect answer.

  i really find the past witness implication of 1975 as the beginning of the "great tribulation" facinating.

  was it as disappointing as the 1995 "new understanding" of the generation spoken of by jesus?

  how were the majority of witnesses able to forget about it and just continue on?

  I was there at that time, too. It was very exciting to think that any day Armageddon would begin and we would be delivered from the adverse conditions of the world. I couldn't believe my ears when the news came that we "were running ahead of Jehovah" after all the emphasis placed on 1975.

  she was only in the hospital part of the day.

  it is amazing how quickly they kick you out of the hospital nowadays.. she is fine, a little groggy yet, but should be back to normal within the week.. jeff

  check out my favorite family, the simpsons, and its recent episode, "thank god it's doomsday".

  i couldnt help but think that one scene illustrates how the gb arrives at their many date predictions over the years.. homer, at the kitchen table reading studiously: "hmmm.

  marge: "homey, you havent touched your second dinner tonight -- and [noting the kitchen table covered with thick reference books] youre reading books.

  Fatfreak, I saw that episode last Sunday. Boy, did it bring back memories. It must be a lot of cults whose thinking is the same. It was a really good episode of the Simpsons. Very funny, once you're out of the borg.

  for those not up-to-date on my situation ... .

  i was disfellowshipped and i posted about it here.. i wrote an appeal letter, and wrote about it here.

  so, i just got home from a weeks vacation, i was home for 3 hours.
