I came across this statement on a health site about oxygen therapy I was researching for a friend.

"armageddon, inc" was an article published in the september 14, 1940 issue of the saturday evening post.. it was written by stanley high and was a critical review of the jehovah's witness religion as it was then.. this was 65 years ago, and i do not know of _any_ articles since then that have been published in a major magazine that attempt to analyze or examine the jehovah's witnesses!.
there have been many articles published over the years about jws, particularly when conventions are being held in a town.
the local papers will usually do stories about them.
Thanks VM44. I did not know that article existed. It was fascinating in the fact that I had been told how aggressive the WTS was in the "old days" by the older JW's. Thanks to everyone else that posted articles.

Came in. The only one ever in my family history, for which everyone had an adjective for me such as high-strung, tempermental, mentally unstable.
1st and only one in my family, ever! No one in my family archives or present have been affiliated with JW's other than me. I became one of Jehovah's Witnesses when I was in my teens and left 1 1/2 years ago.

Thought the problem was with my computer. Called AOL support and for two hours attempted to reconfigure the damn thing because it read runtime error. Never did or do understand what was wrong or what I did to change it. Neither did AOL. Watched MatchPoint DVD - Good movie!. Got sleepy, went to bed.
i rented a house in the late !970's and the contents in the home were given to me.. it happened to be books: ( making my life happy, revelation, children bible stories, listening to the great teacher ) i was enjoying the reading.. -----------------------------------.
a few years later began to notice awake magazines in doctor offices, and other public places and read them and enjoyed them.. ------------------------------------.

I don't know. 10 years ago I had already read COC, Jim Penton and the Orwellian World of Jehovah's Witnesses but I didn't want to give up the belief in paradise, so I kept hoping Jehovah would prove all those apostates wrong.
I didn't have access to a computer until 2005 which is when I accidentally got on this site. When I first visited this site I thought many here had an ax to grind or were sore losers so I lurked for a while, but it didn't take long with all the information posted here from legitimate sources that Ex JW's were exposing Jehovah's Witnesses' lies. It was the coverups that opened my eyes; their earlier teachings, new light, etc. I have to laugh now when I remember how shocked I was to find out about WTBS and NGO. I would not have taken anyone's word for it. It was the actual letter posted here from the UN that did it. It was then I understood why so many here seemed to have such bitterness toward the Witnesses. I was finally freed from the fantasy illusion of paradise earth and I never looked back. So in actuality, it was the internet that liberated me.
