Boy, that's a hard one to answer. Having a cat I love very much I would pay a high price to continue his life. However, if the quality of his life would not be the same, I would have to consider putting him down as much as it would hurt me.....and, knowing how much I would miss him.

Vegetarianism
by rezamichael inwhy aren't witnesses vegetarians?
it's well known that adam and eve were vegetarian.
there was only ever a concession given by god to allow meat eating after the flood as there was no vegetation so it was forced and rather a temporary fix up rather than a new permanent diet.

OK, OK. I give up. I posted in a serious manner attempting to appeal to rezamichael's logic; now, after reading the posts again, you guys got me laughing. Now I can't stop laughing. Daniel-P--stop it!

I am a vegetarian, by choice. However, I think there are far worse things going on in the world than eating meat; for instance, butchering human beings in wars. Killing and molesting children to name only a few. What about other crimes that are committed? Do you believe that there will be punishment for such crimes, or is it only for eating meat?

Yes, I do. I love all of you and have more in common with you all than my best friend. I always feel a loss when anyone leaves the board.

Anyone like me....
by Keepitsane innot feeling like there life's been affected that negatively by their involvement with jw's?.
i ask because while i do believe being raised a jehovahs witness has probably done me some considerable emotional damage, i still can't imagaine it hurt me anymore (and in a lot of cases i'm sure it did far less damage) than the average non jw upbringing.
i had no debilitating diseases, no broken family, kind and loving parents etc...you get my point though?.

Leolaia, I sure hope I am on JWD when you post that thread. I always believed Hislop was an accredited authority. I had no idea his works were fallacious. I'm all excited now!

Something strange about "Christs invisible presence"...
by Hellrider insomething just occured to me: .
we all know that "parousia" doesn`t mean "invisble presence" at all, it just means "presence", but think about the inlogical...ness about the whole jw-doctrine on 1914. my question is: what is jesus` job really, up there in heaven?
- he "took reign" and was "given the throne" in 1914. but what does that mean, really?

Forum History Lesson: Any ungratefuls?
by under_believer ini see a lot of posts here from people who, even though they've had trials and difficulties because of learning the truth about the truth, are appreciative and say things like "thank god for jwd!
it really set me free!
i'm curious whether anybody has ever come on here, learned the truth, accepted it and recognized it for the truth, but been unhappy because it meant trial and tribulation, hypocrisy, regret, change.

I am not ungrateful that I found out the truth about "the truth" on this site because I am totally free from the guilt, inadequacy and fear I felt from the WTS. However, there are times I wax nostalgic and wish I could still believe in that "New World".

New Here Sorta
by Jolinar ini stumbled across this site last august and created an account but a series of events led me to run away (i can post the story if you like) and i have been moving around a bit until i finally got settled some.
along the way due to my mother's sheltering i had some bad experience because i didn't know as much about the real world as i should have.
i ingested as i have before a psychoactive one night and a surge of memories came rushing back to me of my childhood and a massive handfull of them were tied to the time i was made to endure going to the kingdom hall and socializing with many members outside of.
