Of No Importance
by compound complex inrecent happenings close to home bewilder me by day, terrify me by night.
i am immersed in the profound waters of doubt and, sometimes, despair, as i struggle swimmingly to a far off shore that itself is encased in black mist.. .
yet, the shroud of fog does lift.

I always spent Christmas with my relatives who were non JW. They would buy toys for my kids which made me feel better since Iwouldn't buy them toys as presents as a matter of conscience. Even though it was splitting hairs it took the pressure off me. I always felt guilty depriving my children of the happy time Christmas brings. Since I was Catholic (where Christmas is a big celebrated holiday) before I became JW convert I was aware of the holiday spirit surrounding the Christmas season.

Rainbows
by Aussie Oz inwe had the most fantastic rainbow here yesterday, probably the most solid colored one i have ever seen.
it reminded me that jehovah would never again flood the earth... not!.
i remarked to my daughter that the rainbow reminded me that the genesis account was a myth like the aboriginal dream times...rainbows are science, sunlight, rain mist/drops and refracted light.. i said, after it had rained and the sun came out, no matter whether 'god' was involved or not, there was going to be a rainbow.

I'm an artist. At one time I played guitar, just three-chord grannies but I have a good ear for music. I haven't played guitar in many years but I am still a good visual artist. I daresay if I couldn't draw, life wouldn't mean much.

To Dissassociate or just Fade into Inactivity ? Your Choice ? Reasons ?
by flipper inthis has been asked before, however i thought it may be good for newer members of the board to read some of our reasons on how we decided to exit the jw cult and why we decided to do it the way we did.. first off - i have been faded for almost 8 years.
essentially i decided to fade into inactivity and not da because i have elderly jw parents who would shun me if i did get dfed or daed myself.
also- i like keeping open the possibilities that some of my many jw relatives may in time start doubting and have questions and reach out to me in my inactive state.

I had disassociated myself for years - then finally was disfellowshipped. I was heartbroken at first because I still believed some of it. After years of attempting reinstatements and never making it (it seems every time I got close to reinstatement I changed my mind and did a disappearing act again) I just stayed away--amd then I found the internet and this forum was the first place I went and found. Talk about good luck! However, in reading these prior posts I suddenly realize how really fortunate I am that I have no family members or any friends who are JW or even associated with them. I think I would had to have been reinstated because of my family and then gradually fade.

Watchtower Pre-Eve Adam was not male!
by Marvin Shilmer inwatchtower pre-eve adam was not male!
today i uploaded a new article to my blog addressing watchtowers teaching of adams sexuality at the time of his creation.
as it turns out, adam was not originally created as a male.

This thread is fascinating. I don't know what to think now of pre-Eve Adam.. Physical attributes or mental characteristics. It has been valid opinions on both sides. I do know I had a lot of laughs... especially that James Woods. And, Marvin, you are right. You can't make this stuff up. Your website is awesome. But it only comes to life when you put your spin on the subject.
