  i just have to say from reading your posts...you're a reasonable, genuine, honest and all around good guy.. just had to post it....i know you're pulling for a certain jwd member and i think you're doing a good job.

  Non-witness family members often moan to me, that they never see us - well that's because most "worldly" families get togther on holidays, and as witnesses do not observe holidays, there is no getting together.

  I can't help but suspect that this is the point

  Almostatheist. You know that may be his concern, but that is really not mine. I really want to do what is right and be a BALANCED Witness. If I can do something Id like to do it. If they are wrong about something I will not follow it. I recently notice that whenever someone mentioned birthday, my 8 yr old would freeze up and get wide eyed and say birthdays are bad.. I know it is my fault cause I taught her that. However as I matured in the truth I realize its not the BIRTHDAY that is bad, it is the rituals and customs that are. So I have been telling my kids that. Now I am trying to figure it out on thanksgiving. I do not want to put UNDUE pressure on my kids at school if its not biblically founded.

  All I know is I have been doing allot of thinking lately about some things associated with the truth. Dont get me wrong, I am not having doubts as to whether or not it is the truth. I am just trying to figure out what I am going to do about the apparent situations within the ORGANIZATION. I need a break. Maybe Ill go to Michigan and visit one of my child hood friends that I grew up with from infancy.

  Dude, are you that immature that you have to be spoonfed how to conduct yourself on an upcoming Slursday Thursday?

  I do not have to be spoon fed. I want to do what is right in JEHOVAHS eyes, so I NEED to make sure.

  Do your own thing, anything you want. Or do what most of us do - get sloppy drunk, watch bad football, eat way too much and pass out in the living room.

  I do not WANT to do my OWN thing. I want to do Gods thing! Getting sloppy drunk is something that displease Jesus and Jehovah.

  i am guessing that everything in the bible is based on "a human need" im only guessing.

  if we could figure out how to blot out all the insignificant crap garbage (i believe a lot was written/added that wasnt supposed to be: do not go beyond what is written.

  I am asking this because I am thinking of allowing my kids to participate in it at school. You know every year for all the holidays they get to decorate and things. I am going to make sure I do not turn my kids into RIGID witness. I will raise them to be witness and serve Jehovah but to be BALANCED. I am or have been learning do that over the past several yrs.
