Good way to dodge.......the best reason I've found is, it is done so the remnant can reestablish the "new covenant." But, there is no scriptural basis only the interpretation from the GB. Whom we can NERVER question.

by VM44 inif a jw states that 607 bce is incorrect, how long will it take before the elders announce from the platform to the congregation that the person is "no longer one of jehovah's witnesses"?

btw, i had to make the decision along with my siblings to disconnect my mother from life support.
there is a point where it is better to let your loved one slip away, i think.

One thing I find to be the most ironic the same "right to life" that is fighting for Terry Schiavo is the group that is doing it's best to block the only research that can help her if her condition can be reversed, stem cell research.

If the WT were to "reform" would you stay or go back?
by confusedjw inthis thought has sprung from recent threads and speculation over the new book.
i know many who post here are still active jw's or ones who were df'd, but may have not totally left the belief system.
many have trouble with the methods and policies of the wt concerning dfing, restrictions, blood, local elders etc.

by truthseeker induring a dinner conversation with a loyal jw, he mentioned that the society seems to be making stronger statements to jw's.
he mentioned the "keep on the watch" brochure, and how it seemed to be for jw's as well as the public.
he acknowledged the "personal questions" the society were asking us, in the brochure - how pointed and direct they are, even asking you to rank your physical and spiritual activities on a scale of 1 to 10. .

The use of 1914 is almost brilliant. Jesus? invisible presence, prove he?s not here. Their proof is fudging some numbers, how do we prove it didn?t happen, he?s invisible?

Thier message is getting stronger. I know this kind of talk keep's the hard core one's happy. My mom, for example, feeds on it. She figures the "end" must be near based on the strength of the message. She must have forgotten about 1975. But I think WTBTS has learned it's lesson and stopped mentioning any specific dates.

Being a father of a little girl, I'm really pissed off. jails are full of guys in there for smoking a joint while this sick f**k is out stalking our kids. They said his rap sheet spans 30+ years. So much for 3 strike laws. How many more kids have to be dug before something is done?

I?m in Florida and have been following this case closely for the past few years. I have to differ with you about this. She is NOT in a coma but is in a ? persistent vegetative state." In short she is not brain dead but the cerebral cortex and part of the cerebrum is dead. All the faith in the world can?t regenerate nervous tissue. Brain scans don?t lie. There is a video of her smiling and following a balloon with her eyes, what the media is leaving out is this was a one time thing and has not occurred in over a hundred attempts to reenact it. Money is not an issue as well, he was offered $10,000,000 to sign over custody, but he maintains it?s not Terri?s wish. But in short, the law is the law, it?s his call. The Imperial Federal Government does not the right to intercede. I hope I didn?t upset to many??..
