  am i the only one here who has non-jw and jw siblings who exclude you from "family" social events, but see nothing wrong with asking you to contribute a significant amount of money toward gifts for jw parents who instigate your exclusion from family social events?.

  quite frankly, i'm pissed off about this most recent request and i'm planning on ignoring it.

  why should i give $200 of my hard earned wages to people who won't permit me in their home or speak to me?

  i'm sitting here in awe, just having read that evacuation helicopters are reporting being shot at in louisiana.

  shot at.. looters are seeing an opportunity to take goods that will probably be destroyed or paid for by insurance anyway.

  it's dirty and nasty and wrong, but i can live with it.

  I am not suprised at the looting and shooting. It has long been a New Orleans (Algiers) New Years' tradition to shoot firearms randomly in the air. Why, I'll never know. Stupidity, I guess. If that is a tradition on a holiday, it would follow that when things get bad, firearms would be pointedly aimed and discharged at another human. Why, I'll never know. Kazar is on to something, this is the actions of uncivilized selfish lowlives.

  Trouble for Richie?

  so today, after the meeting, one of the elders from my jc walks up to me and my mother and asks if we had time to talk.

  thankfully, i had to get to work, and mom wasn't feeling great.

  we said today wasn't good.. so basiccally he said that he and another brother want to meet with us on wednsday night, after the tms, to "see how things are going".. so here's quandry:.

  Thanks All for the re-welcome. I always felt like the redheaded stepchild at the family picnic, here I know I am just readheaded.

  Merry, I have seen the petting zoo. Emu, monkeys and the rat. They all seem pretty well housebroken. Gotta love em!

  Don't tug on Superman's cape, don't spit into the wind, don't pull the mask of the ol' Lone Ranger, and don't mess around with Slim. Seriously, I'm loosing my judgementalism. With that comes the ability to stick up for others that may not think like I do. I don't have to be right all the time. It's too much responsiblilty. It's too much work to keep up apperances. I'm learning to like me.

  does anyone remember this game from (i think) the early '80s?

  it's a role playing game of some sort that included some violent imagery or something.. i remember jws (and the media, come to think of it) making a big, big deal of it.

  something like it was demonized or made kids murder people.
