  she totally flipped out.

  all i was trying to do was find some mutual respect for my decision but she started smacking, punching, pushing me.

  soon after, she threw the biggest tantrum and it disgusted me to see her acting in such a manner.

  Yeah. I?d say be kind to her, she probably also thinks she failed at something while bringing you up. Give it a time, and after storm comes down introduce your girlfriend to her. I know it?s not easy, but best cure for everything is a kind human touch. After all she is your mom. :o)

  Did you ever see a TRULY happy JW?

  i mean seriously, most of us have been inside for a number of years.

  so during all this time did you ever see happy person or a family or were you ever truly happy there, even for a brief period of time?

So during all this time did you ever see happy person or a family or were YOU ever truly happy there, even for a brief period of time? If you were happy, when was it? Was it when you were still having pre-baptism bible study, while you were pioneering, or at some other time.

  In my own experience, I?ve seen very few truly happy people, mostly it was a pretence (there were a few to be fair, but that was back in 80?s). I personally did love discussing with people (if that can be considered happiness) so pioneering was my cocoon for a number of years where I was hiding from congregational problems and constant internal politicking, back-stabbing, gossip and slander, until I couldn't tolerate it anymore.

  hope i can get some positive feedback., and i really mean it, don?t want to offend anyone but .. .

  reflecting on your own experiences are people on this website mainly open to new points of views, new ideas, or is this mainly a site for criticizing even when there?s no concrete evidence just for the sake of it.

  reason why i?m asking this is because i?ve been a member here for just under a week here and already had unpleasant experience of being dragged into pretty nasty argument just because i dared to disagree with someone.

  I do know that emotions are running high and we are all keen to see any piece of evidence. But I still think that for the sake of us retaining credibility (when talking about serous matter) there should be a degree of composure because other side will use it against us and believe me they do read it all.
  
  
  So if we want to help other people and friends see the truth we better make sure we use the right material. But again, that?s my opinion and doesn?t necessarily have to be shared by most people.

  Every one has the right to have an opinion.
  
  
  Which is great, that means we are free in that regard at least. Many sects, WT included, are guilty of communal disease known in management literature as groupthink. ( If any of you don?t know what it means go to google or dictionary.com) Hence, at least forums like this one enable people to express themselves. Though I still maintain we should be respectful of others people dignity, but again that?s my view on the matter.

  Thank you all for you posts and if I have offended anyone by anything I?ve said above I want to apologize in advance.

So much so, that I even had to delete one of my postings to preserve peace in discussion but the person simply wouldn?t stop.

  I?m just wondering if WT society has left such an indelible mark on some that they simply cannot constructively lay down their argument without resorting to insults, derogatory comments about you and your posting or alike. I mean we all, more or less, fled WT society because we wanted freedom. Freedom of thought, freedom of expression, freedom to be respected for your point of view and freedom from fear that you are going to be penalized just because you disagree in principle with somebody.

  (Perhaps it?s the time for self reflection ? after all it?s healthy from time to time)

  I?ll appreciate your thoughts.

  he told me that if i wanted to find out information about the watchtower and the united nations, then i would need to start typing in (numbers) instead of letters and words into my search engines.

  I personally see many hypocritical things this society did including UN debacle

  I?m not defending them and I think anybody reading my postings can see that. All I wanted is to see more about it before making any conclusion ?. (but it doesn?t make sense to talk to someone who has already made his mind, does it Voyager?)

  Right now you are displaying an attitude of a real JW who cannot stand that someone disagrees with him. This forum should be a celebration of free thought. What you are now doing is displaying the same dogmatic attitude WT org does (I know you?re gonna be pissed by me saying that but I?m telling you as a friend) Calm down, is WT hypocritical? Yes they are!! In fact, (I don?t know your background but) I?ve been high enough to see it all, so please do not treat me like an idiot. At the outset I've said:

  I?ll probably make many enemies by saying this, so please take this as my professional deformation.

  Did you get that??? I kind of sensed that what I was about to say might stir some spirits.

  But, it should have also told you that I?m open to discussion. My professional background insists from me to check and double check my facts, and before I say anything better make sure that it has some weight and substance ? meaning not something that can be easily disputed even by experts let alone a monkey, which is the primary reason I couldn?t get along with people inside WT. Right now, I see the same attitude; if most of you are like this then this is really not place for me.

  Thank you rebel8 for saying I certainly hope politely speaking your opinion as you did does not make enemies! I'd like to think people on this forum have risen above the hatred for independent thinking by now. .

  OK Voyager, This is my last posting on this subject so here it is:

  I?ve explained my point quite clearly in my first posting to this topic, and the simple point was quite innocent being that ?just because someone uses plane of whatever org doesn?t constitute a ?crime? of belonging to them? WT uses many other government service yet they consider it all part of devils system, blah, blah, blah.

  Now I know what you are saying and I do not want to go into circular argument with you, which is a tool so fondly used by many religionist and other fundamentalists but in reality doesn?t solve anything because of simple fact that everything is based on personal opinions anyway. In answer to your question, I personally see many hypocritical things this society did including UN debacle.

  However, when developing an argument I tend to use concrete evidence. To me personally this argument that ?they used UN plane? is as if someone from Amish community was accused for finally abandoning horse chariot and using a city buss paid by city council which they also view as part of devil?s system. Pretty stupid argument wouldn?t you agree? It doesn?t hit the depth of essence of what is really going on here.

  In the case of WT it was that they have actively promoted interests of UN through their literature while at the same time labeling them as ?disgusting thing? that?s what is at the core of it all, not that they?ve used UN plane to deliver humanitarian aid as quickly as possible in the country that has infrastructure that hasn?t changed from the time Neanderthals walked the earth.

  In any case I?m aware whatever I say you?ll have a counter argument which is your right and besides I do not have intention to compete with you or to win argument. Everyone here has mind to decide and see what is right from wrong for themselves.
