Confuzzled: Back in the day, I always volunteered and for several years I was given restroom duty. I had to stand at the head of the women's line and tell them when a stall opened up. And yes, it smelled awful. But the worst thing was that the first badge I was given said attendant, and then it was decided that no mere woman should wear such a label, so they changed it. I had to walk around all day with the word "Restroom" on my chest. Not "Restroom Attendant," just "Restroom."

Today is my 2yr Anniversary of being OUT of JWs - honoring it with a letter! (long)
by babygirl30 intoday is my 2yr anniversary since being df'd - and my life has changed a lot!!!
this is a letter i wrote to my parents...i did see/talk to them in feb when i had my surgery, but of course as it goes, now that i'm 'better' - they are back to shunning me.
so this was sent to them both, so that they understood that despite all the jw bull ish, and how they are treating me now - i'm ok and happy!

Beautiful letter. It made me cry. It was so reasonable and loving and lacking in bitterness.
And may I quote once again a statement from an Awake article that makes me CRAZY!
Awake July 2009 page 29: No one should be forced to worship in a way that he finds unacceptable or be made to choose between his beliefs and his family.
I wish I had the funds to put this on billboards.

Straight from the September Watchtower. How can they print this without blushing?
by nicolaou inthe watchtower september 1, 2010 11. .
the dangers of being deceived (page 10/11).
to deceive, says one dictionary, means to cause to accept as true or valid what is false or invalid.

Here's someone's mistake I enjoyed: She is a died-in-the-woods witness. Ha! I wonder what this person thought that meant. Dyed-in-the-wool means inflexible, because, I assume, the dye is in the very fiber rather than the cloth being dyed after being woven.

When I first saw the name Persephone, I pronounced it Per-sa-phone. I thought, "what an ugly name." In my defense, I was only 12.

Also, let's get the elephants straight.
White elephant: an object no longer wanted by its owner.
Pink elephant: seen by the inebriated.
Elephant in the room: an obvious problem no one wants to talk about. I don't think its color matters.

"Call Bob, Harry or myself." Only YOU can call yourself.
When people say, "I could care less," I want to shout, "How MUCH less? Maybe you care quite a lot."
I loved WKRP in Cincinnati. Les would say, "...and I use that word incorrectly."
Fun thread Sylvia!
