  Another Newbie from Wisconsin

  after seeing all the new people from wisconsin today i decided to come out of my lurker mode.

  i have been practically obsessed with this board since i discovered it, and i give everyone here credit for helping my husband and i leave the borg.

  i had been in 11 years, and my husband 27 years, along with our 3 small children.

  Tough day -- my mom died today

  poor thing, she's had alzheimer's for about 10 years and the last year she's been on hospice care because she's been so close to death.

  the past few months she's been slowly filling up with water -- they gave her lasix (not sure of the spelling) to relieve the edema and it worked, sort of.

  last weekend she actually looked a little better.

  JW reaction to the UN coverup

  so, if you handed a jw a copy of the un report on the wtbs involvement, how do they react?

  are they able to explain this away?

  This post made me remember my first posts.... When I found about the UN scandal on the internet, I told a good friend of mine, an Elder in my congregation about it. He left the watchtower whith his whole family (4 people), me & my family (5 people) left too, some relatives (5 people) & a friend (1 more) also!. My elder friend was DA'ed. I knew the big fish in my country so I told them... I was visited twice by the elders (friends too) & they where speechless... they had no answer, but they left me alone (they have remained friendly but they know I will never go back). I just barely escaped DF'ing & had to fade.
  
  From that time up to now, I have told some more JW friends about it, I hope seeds
  where planted.

  Every Jehovah's Witness in Peru votes. If you do not vote in this country, you'll get a big fine..... So everybody votes here. There are no meetings on voting days. Caballo Sentado (technically a JW)

  What made you "see the light"?

  i realize many (or all) of the ex-j.w.

  's in this forum have either gotten out of the org., faded, or in some way have come to the conclusion that the watchtower is not the "faithful and discreet slave", and is not the "true" religion that they claim to be.

  i am curious to know..... "what made you see the light"?.

  For me, it was the UN Scandal.
  Thanks to the Internet, living in South America is not a problem anymore.... We
