The witness would be making fun of the backpacks and the mormon would be making fun of the briefcase,
But I would almost bet the witness would want to know where they their sharp lookin' suits from?(ha ha)

i see a lot of posts here from people who, even though they've had trials and difficulties because of learning the truth about the truth, are appreciative and say things like "thank god for jwd!
it really set me free!
i'm curious whether anybody has ever come on here, learned the truth, accepted it and recognized it for the truth, but been unhappy because it meant trial and tribulation, hypocrisy, regret, change.
I think the ones that see the truth on JWD, but still remain or go back to the org just haven't had enough.
I probably would have stayed in because of family if it wasn't for the simple fact that they weren't even worth it by that time.
The loss from staying in far outweighed the loss from leaving.

I can't say that any one quality is the best. Any quality in a person that is extreme can be bad.
----too much love become overbearing, too much joy become fake, too much honesty becomes rude, too much humbleness allows others to walk all over you.
just my opinion

doesn't the society have it all wrong?.
each of us is in charge of our own person.
we are responsible individually for our actions and evolvement as a person.
I don't know about everyone elses parents, but for sure my mom think this way. She equate humbleness to submission to the society. EVERYTHING the society says is correct whether it is reasonable or not.
It really looks like my mom lacks a brain. Even as a little girl I understood that the societys humility didn't make sense. Why is it such a hard concept?

If it is true that we stand before God individually,(society won't be their explaining for us or defending us) then aren't all JW"s doing the soicety a "favor" by deciding to adopt and support "their" view of God and everything that goes with their religion?
They Society acts like "they" are doing everyone else a favor by their very existence even.
Do the JW's understand that submitting to the society is NOT humbleness, but rather their LACK of responsibility for their own lives? I believe that humbleness is shown in how we treat others and recognize each and every person as an equal, deserving of love.(despite the bitterness and meaness of some- We are all at different stages of understanding life)
Does the Society recognize that by their demand for full obedience to them, they have not done their job of teaching TRUE humbleness?
It seems really weird that 6mill people can't seem to recognize this. Could you imagine if they all recognized this, how much good 6mill people could actually accomplish in this world without one single day of door-to-door service?

hi mighty apostate crew, .
last weekend i was talking with my girlfriend and said to her that i was on an ex-jw forum.
her reaction was : if jws do not bother you anymore why are you still trying get information on them ?
The society has done such a good job of bowbeating us and teaching us how worthless we are without them. Alienating us from society and then when DF'd or DA'd ,alienating us from family and friends, I find that just being around people with similar experiences helps me keep my sanity.
It takes time to realize the society was wrong and we are worth it. We have the ability look after ourselves quite well without their stupid input. While we love our families, holding us hostage with the threat of losing our family is just not going to work like it use too. We aren't going to be fooled. We know they are just MEN.
This forum helps recognize this.

hey y'all,.
how many of you have tattoos, and if so what are they?
what is the meaning, if any, behind them?
I got one on my ankle- a butterfly. I need to go back and get a flower or something to go with it, but that sucker hurt.
It might not hurt as bad as labor, but I could have kicked the tatoo guy in the teeth. Yep, I'm a wimp and not scared to admitt it!

Gumby,
At this time in life and with information I've read, I believe the bible has come up short if we take it as absolutely infallible or even the WORD of God.
However, I do believe that the bible tells a story of the beginnings of group of people. Some of it may be truthful, but most is just a story on how these people saw themselves.
As far as the christian scriptures go, I lean toward believing that their was a person living at the time of Jesus whom the scriptures are built upon. I can't say I believe everything it says he did and I think the salvation issue just isn't even logical.
Since I'm writing from memory here I can tell you that books on the Dead Sea Scrolls, Nag Hammadi Library, history of Catholic Church, Buddist and Tebettan religion have significantly influenced how I view God and the bible.
I still believe in God and Jesus, just not in the christian way. Oh and for about 6mths after leaving JW's I did attend the First Baptist Church. I felt it was very similar to the witness way in that it is still a condemning religion(hell). My parents might be witnesses, but I don't think they are destined for HELL just because they aren't BAPTIST. Plus my little girl was already starting to get indoctrinated and I want them growing up embrassing all people and being interested in all beliefs so they can come to a reasonable conclusion about who God is in their own life.
