I just spoke to some PIMI women in the religion. They are old friends and know I’m ‘Out’ and sort of understand because they have a relative who was mistreated for almost the same reason I was: having a full-time job. Their Witness extended family is pulled apart in strife with this one not talking to that one, etc. There are grown nieces and nephews shunned by parents who appear willing to go to their graves rather than reconcile or at least be civil to their children who didn’t stay in the ‘Truth’ 🙄.

I am appalled at this and am so grateful I wasn’t raised a JW!…Me being shunned as a ‘Fader’ makes absolutely No difference to me since I luckily have no relatives in that religion..I think this group could probably go down in history for their shunning routine. I know the Amish do this but they are an isolated community whereas JWs can be anywhere. Shunned JWs or ex-JWs oftentimes suffer from depression, can’t hold down a job, end up needing therapy, etc. and who knows how this all ends?

What a tragedy this shunning routine is! 👎

march 22, 2022. over the past eight months, the watchtower bible and tract society has reviewed public and other comments on its proposed development for 155 sterling mine road in ramapo and has revised its plans.. on monday, the applicant was prepared to present its feis (final environmental impact statement) and hoped the ramapo town board would accept its submission as “final,” to move on to review by the rockland county planning department.. instead, the board deferred making decisions, seemingly because they did not have enough time to review some newly submitted documents by the activist group rosa.. “we’re asking the board to take action on the ‘feis’,” said attorney ira emanuel.

I totally agree with your post.

Reading this makes me glad I never took anything the JW religion said seriously.. I made sure I planned for MY retirement/old age. After all, they have planned for theirs with these compounds they have with all the amenities!! ..As for physical fitness: common sense tells you to care for yourself and keep your trap shut about how you do it.

Sorry for all the ‘friends’ who ate everything up like cake:.. pursuing poverty/giving money they could ill afford; asking for ‘direction’ for every stupid move they made and telling their business to everybody; letting their bodies get soft in some cases not taking care of dental needs, etc. Personally, I mostly ignored all the intrusive crap I heard there. I’m so Glad today that I did!

so i pioneered for 10 years in the 1990's it was 90 hours a month with alot of country driving.

i was shocked when brothers and sisters with full time jobs would park their brand new cars and go witnessing in my 20 year old orange datsun.

i was barely living on $250 a week as a yeah...window cleaner.

If you’re out and your family is still In, they are going to have to learn to say No to the Witnesses looking for Freebies!.. That is one crucial word to learn. Practice in front of a mirror!! ..But, you gotta say No.

As far as the JWs telling you you’re ‘materialistic’ because you had a decent job - same here.

But, they ALL made a serious error in judgment when they made idiot remarks to me about ‘materialism’ and ‘not pioneering’. I’ll never forget this! ..The consequences are: they DONT get to ask for money from somebody they knocked for having a decent job or working full-time! ..I’m not interested in anybody’s ‘hard-luck stories’.

Let them track down their ‘spiritual’ friends and ask THEM for money.

I am sure all the JWs still active are being hit up for money left and right. The demographics of the religion have also changed.

The older responsible JWs who are financially secure are passing away. What’s left are people who may not be gainfully employed because of listening to stupid BS about not getting careers. Then you have the needy with serious ‘issues’ brought into the religion the last two decades - no doubt to fill the empty seats! For sure these people are added to the list of other JWs looking for handouts!

To me this sounds like a powder-keg situation and I’m Glad I did a ‘Fade’ years ago because I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near this!

I’m sorry you learned the hard way about ‘lending’ JWs expensive tools among other things.

Too many Witnesses are Users plain and simple who will take what they can get (Freebies) from people who can’t say NO. This is the naked truth about it all.👎

I never resented anybody who was well-off and never expected anything from anybody..I did not ‘covet’ anybody’s anything.. I had a full-time job and supported myself. However, I was criticized for having this job - and by older people collecting their pensions, to boot!!.. Because of this hateful attitude towards me, I wouldn’t give so much as a dime to pioneers who didn’t work. I also Refused to do favors for all the Users.

I was charitable towards certain single women who were friendly towards me. These women were poorly paid and sadly did so much for the religion.

It’s interesting to note these single women are needy today!!!..Women who don’t get married or get a career end up poor in their senior years!.. This is why I have no regrets about my full-time job because I am Retired now.. The religion and the hypocrites within would certainly not be supporting me or anybody else.

Of course you would be expected to become a JW if you have a ‘bible’ study with them…This is the only reason they would ever bother with anybody.

They will be very friendly at first and kill you with kindness. However, if you make No real progress, ask too many intelligent or intellectual/type questions OR bring up any bad publicity you have heard, they will be on their guard. They hate thinking people.

Once you say you are not really interested..you will be dropped like a bad habit.

Anybody who rode in your car should have given you gas money! That’s what I would have done. I also took certain friends out to lunch.

I might have driven a few times in the earlier years out in service..I got criticized for turning corners too fast by one older sister. I said I’m sorry but I could take her back to the hall if she wanted.😈. This was one with a cushy life and worldly husband. She was the one who made the remark that I ‘shouldn’t get a 2 door car’. To which I replied that if the religion was making my car payments I would get any car they liked.

I realized Witnesses were ingrates and it was a liability to have people in my car. So, I never did this again. Besides, these idiots criticized me for my full-time job.👎

Your old thread from eight years ago still is very accurate - regardless of whether anybody thinks it is a ‘hater’ thread.

The only difference today is that there are somewhat fewer JWs in the religion. Many have left and I would wager most of them are male. That means there are even fewer left in the pool of ‘available’ men. This is assuming they are even desirable to a woman with common sense.

I realize Witness world is a small fishbowl where a guy who may not be attractive and has nothing going for him will be sought after by desperate women.. But as long as nobody confuses this with Real world standards outside the religion where guys like him would be laughed at!

As for that pretty 37 year old ‘spinster’ who was a convert and didn’t ‘appreciate’ JW dating standards and rejected ‘potential suitors’ (how dare she? 🙄)..she should find a guy outside. The hell with everybody in the idiot religion! ..She is not ‘condemned’ to be single if she wakes up!

Regarding ‘spirituality as currency’ mindset: I did hear plenty of talk about sisters looking for a ‘spiritual’ man.🙄..Such a silly word.

However, in my ‘unspiritual’ mind and heart I never truly ‘got’ it. Maybe it’s because I was not a born-in?? My values were shaped before I joined the JW religion. While I may have wanted a decent guy, I certainly wasn’t looking for an elder (or anybody there with a title).. I’m sorry if anybody was deluded enough to think they were hot shit because they were an elder.. I certainly didn’t think so.

Sometime ago, I read a post where somebody said something along the lines of: ‘being an elder was about as important (or exciting) as being the president of the local book club’.🤣 ..I certainly agreed with this. Sorry if this offends anybody.

Getting back to the point of the thread: there are too few men in the JW religion and far too many women there looking for any man who has a pulse. They should do themselves a favor and look elsewhere.
