Your questions are complicated and I wouldn’t know if anybody could put a number to something like that.. How much is a life worth? How much is somebody’s time worth? Etc.

I also believe the religion wouldn’t get any converts if they put their cards on the table!.. I think I experienced ‘bait & switch’ with them. Nothing was as it was explained to me once I was in. Then all the ugliness was revealed.. Jesus’s ‘light load’ turned out to be a ton of bricks!

There were serious life lessons and a number done on my brain!.. I do realize some have had it worse than me and I’m grateful I wasn’t raised a JW.. What a relief to be done with it.

Who Was The Biggest Jackass Circuit Overseer You Ever Met?

there was on older white-haired circuit overseer in houston around 1989 or 1990. last name started with a w i think.... not sure though.

even the most brain-dead robotic elders told me he was offensive.

Not naming any names but there was a phucking fool CO many years ago who said “people should do the housecleaning…”.

I believe this might have been a dig at me sitting there because I had a full-time job that I wouldn’t quit to do the ‘approved’ housecleaning/pioneering that they held out to young single women.. I was gossiped about relentlessly so I wouldn’t put it past some idiot to work this into his ‘talk’.. I Thank God now I never paid any attention to these busybodies!

Not sure if he’s still around but I would have loved to tell him off.

At least when I was Catholic I didn’t have a bulls-eye target on me like when I was in the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

I had to resist and repel Users in the JW religion! I got criticized and shunned for working.. Yet, these hypocrites acted like I ‘owed’ somebody something.. This is a repulsive culture and I’m so glad I’m Out.

Education video this midweeks meeting

there is an item this week all about yang ones leaving school.. the two brothers go to a career advisor seminar.

one brother thinks it’s good to work hard full time while you are young and tries to encourage his friend to as well.. his friend (who is the good jw trust the gb no matter what they say)) he wants a part time job.. the video shows him dreaming about investing his money on his phone and the chart goes up, he drives a nice car and seems to be doing well financially.. then he reads the scripture in proverbs and next you see that investment chart go down in the red and he is so pleased he just got a low paid part time job.. this infuriates me.

how many of us are now struggling because we were told to get menial part time jobs and we were told the end would have been here by now.. i will never tell a young person to listen to the gb advice on this.

I happen to agree with your post 100%.

This is what I have been saying all along: they try to say that full-time jobs are bad.. Meanwhile the hypocrite that spoke to you works (his wife as well).. Like you, I am the head of my household (even if it’s only one). They don’t like to acknowledge that if you are a woman.

I believe at this point the religion is desperate to keep younger people in the seats there. Hence the absurd advice to hardly work. They don’t care if somebody starves! Meanwhile, they are in the lap of luxury and not in reality about things like paying bills.

I also know the difference between making a living and chasing riches. They are not the same - even though the Witness religion tries to make it as if they are. They are so deceptive.

Back in the late seventies I was treated like an outcast in the congregation because I wouldn’t buckle under their pressure to quit my job and do housecleaning/pioneering - the only approved course for a young woman.

Maybe I can credit my non-JW upbringing for helping to resist their bad advice(?) I just know I would not be retired today if I listened to them back then. They certainly would not be supporting me - or anybody else.

I agree with you. It would appear the JW religion is taking presumptuous to a whole new level.

It makes me sick as well to see that they have cast Jesus aside in a hostile takeover and sat themselves on the heavenly throne. Somehow this doesn’t faze the rank & file JWs sitting there!

I’m Glad for a lot of reasons I got out of the Witness religion long ago.. I don’t consider myself to be religious by any means, but I would just as soon go back to the Catholic Church before I accepted the blasphemous ‘governing body’s’ teachings about anything.

JEHOVAXX:

Please don’t tell me anybody believes these silly videos the JW religion puts out accurately portray real life??? They might fool a grade school kid - but that’s it.

The religion just won’t let up about bashing and inaccurately portraying education and careers.

I am sure there are thousands of Baby Boomer Witnesses (current and ex) who are suffering today because they unwisely were in the ministry for decades instead of a job! They have reached their senior years absolutely broke and unprepared.. Didn’t pay enough into SS, no pension or 401k.. Is the religion going to support them?? That’s a laugh🤣.

The religion cannot deliver the paradise it promised to everybody. Not only that, the older JWs in congregations who pushed the housecleaning/pioneering agenda on gullible young people back then aren’t even around to help anybody today. Most have died.

I personally witnessed this back in the day.. I refused to quit my job and am forever Thankful.. I’m a longtime ‘Fader’ who is Glad I’m no longer in the religion because I would never tolerate being around these broke Witnesses looking for handouts!👎

how many of the millions of jws know it’s not true but stay anyway?.

my guess is most jws know it’s not true on a subconscious level to an extent but they don’t want to think about it too much and would never ever voice it out loud.. but this is probably true with all religions around the world?.

I am sure your story and what you said describes the great majority of Witnesses and why they stay in the religion.

And you said it honestly: “You would lose far more than you would gain…” This is why I feel badly for some of them. Yes, it’s too bad the internet wasn’t around 50 years ago!

I was raised Catholic and had no family in the JWs so it was relatively easy to walk away. This is also why I was not susceptible to criticism about my job when I was there.. I wisely let it go in one ear and out the other!

I think the Witnesses have the distinction of also being in a religion with people sitting there who don’t want to be there (I wont name any others).. It is as if they have a gun pointed at them.. Truly they are captives.

Disaster preparedness

as your family considers its disaster preparedness plan, please ensure that the secretary has up-to-date contact information for you and your emergency contact.

also, we have re- peatedly seen good results when brothers and sisters are prepared with go bags and are ready to obey direction when they face various kinds of disasters.

please be sure you have a go bag, and review its contents at least once a year.

That is some list you posted (and I have heard all those things are true). I’m glad I never had any business dealings with JWs - because I would never tolerate being victimized by anybody.. So what if I got DFd?..No loss.

But reading these things one has to wonder just how such a religion/entity could even be counted on to help in a serious crisis.. Never mind a SHTF situation. The religion would be locked down like a fortress🤣. Any local help in areas wouldn’t be much and would be short-lived …In all probability, some individual brothers would be the ones doing it out of their own pockets!!! Sad to say.

it's incredible how this cover, and also this "series" of watchtower's is burned into my mind.

i was almost 5 years old when these were released.

It is probably the ‘sunk cost fallacy’ why some JWs stay there…Besides, everybody has their own personal reasons why they really want out.. Maybe some people weren’t personally singled out for anything like I was.

I was treated so badly because I worked full-time, but always had ‘hope’ things would get better.. Silly, I know but that’s the daydreamer I was.

It wasn’t until something concrete happened- like the 1995 Generation teaching - that I knew I had to get out. I realized they were stringing everybody along.. I procrastinated and around 2001 I finally left.. In my observations through JW ‘friends’ in the following years, I was glad that I left.. I’m not much interested in JWs who stay for whatever reason. What’s most important is that I got myself out and have no family there to worry about.

Yes, that is what really gets me about the Witness religion: ..at least at this point, there appears to be No justice for people harmed by their teachings - whether past or present.

All we can do is be thankful we got Out of there.
