i was reading the march 2025 wt today, and i notice this: "march 2025 p. 29 jehovah’s hand is not too short p.29-31 (retirement, but qualified statement) (notice , it is not wrong, but, in the end we must rely on their god.

retirement is alluded to as "making the quest for material things the focus of our life.

" are we confident that their god will provide (why have retirement then?

I’m sure that elder didn’t like hearing that.

Nobody wants to be targeted to give charity to needy people, especially people needy because they did it to themselves. I wouldn’t tolerate them coming near me.

But he as an enforcer of the Witness religion’s teachings NOT to get college or career is on the hook to help these other JWs, in my opinion... In fact, somebody like him would have been instrumental in getting ME shunned back in the day because of my full-time job!!!

I DO feel that the religion’s efforts now to get back ‘faders’ and ‘disfellowshipped’ is partly related to their concerns about TOO many needy in their ranks who were conned into not preparing for retirement! It’s too obvious to ignore.. Maybe in the past when the congregations were jumping with people this was less obvious. Also, all the ‘boomer’ pioneers hadn’t reached retirement age yet and there was still ‘hope’ the ‘nu system’ would arrive!

Who knows if maybe the JW religion is afraid that if there were practically no other people in congregations - that there could be a scenario of all these needy and desperate people coming and banging on their door and otherwise making their plight public!?

I didn’t know all the details of the JW religion’s retirement community (for the higher ups). But, I certainly can’t say I am surprised. They have foolish people enabling them while they live like kings.👎

It is too bad about the millions of rank & file Witnesses everywhere who were conned and duped into not working decent jobs and careers and not providing for any sort of retirement for themselves. Even though this is a shame, I personally feel no pity for them because they all knocked me years ago for working.. What am I expected to say??

These broke JWs don’t seem to want to talk about how the religion misled them and should be helping them but isn’t… All in all, I am glad to no longer be around any of this.. I wouldn’t set foot in a KH again.

"Love bombing" when your new or baptised.

so i studied with a sister and her husband and there first complaint was all the love stopped after they got baptised...well it's called love bombing all cults do this till your in then they move on..

I remember that ‘love bombing’ phase and how I felt when it ended.

It was a disillusionment and an eye-opener. I was a little naive when I came into the Jehovah’s Witness religion. I was raised Roman Catholic.. I guess I wanted to believe the JWs were a brotherhood and one big happy family.. Well, I came to see they are neither..They are not your family and certainly do not have your ‘back’.

They are a collection of strangers. You may like some of them - and some may like you. But, the friendships are conditional. Like all people they care only about themselves and their families. Other people are an afterthought.

A single woman like myself was not thought of at all unless nervy individuals and Users were looking favors.. My answer was No. I wouldn’t do favors like other young single women since I was viewed badly over my full-time job. The only other time I was ‘thought of’ was if there was a criticism of some sort - mainly over my clothing because I have a decent shape.

Looking back I really overstayed my welcome in that place. I am just Thankful I kept my job and never followed the crowd there over the ‘pioneering’ thing. I would be so screwed today it wouldn’t be funny!.. The older hypocrites/critics aren’t even around today to help anybody duped into following the ‘no career’ ethic. These critics went to their graves after living a cushy life.

So, much for the bogus brotherhood. It was a life lesson learned.

It makes me ill to read the JW religion’s nonsense.. Even the Bible promotes saving and uses the example of the lowly ant in Proverbs.

Also, how could someone give charity unless they had a store saved up? The Witness religion ignores Bible wisdom with its teachings against working and saving.. Quite frankly, they are full of it in my book with their saying that “Jehovah will provide” as though someone could literally be a bum and pennies will fall from heaven.. Too many Witnesses took this bad advice.

As for the religion giving the impression they are changing their stand? It’s superficial so the world thinks they aren’t what they really are.

But I know better as somebody who was treated like I had a disease years ago because I had a full-time job. Today I am grateful it worked out the way it did.. I wouldn’t trade places with pioneers who scoffed at me back then and who got invited to special dinners and told how ‘spiritual’ they were. 🙄 That is worthless and not paying the bills in 2025!

final thoughts after 15 hours of the 2025 assembly.

after dedicating 15 hours to the 2025 assembly, i walked away with a heavy sense of spiritual emptiness.

the only part that managed to stir anything within me was a single video on day one titled “what does jesus see in you?”—a piece with sentimental appeal, but still surface-level at best.. .

I also have a few good memories from years ago of going out to eat with some people after the assembly/convention.

I also agree that I certainly didn’t remember all that was said at the conventions.. Only the highlights of a particular talk were remembered.

But, what I find particularly false about what is being said lately is that ‘Faders’ are supposedly out to get everybody and drag JWs out of their precious religion!.. They must be getting desperate to say things like this.. It simply is not true.. When I did my ‘Fade’ years ago I was only interested in getting myself Out of this toxic religion that wasted my time.

I had No interest in what any other Witness there did or did not do.

SDAs Campaigning in my Area

not even as active as the jws (whom i have not seen for around a year now), nevertheless i get an occasional leaflet or other publication in my letterbox that seems to be seventh day adventist in origin.. the booklet i received the other day was entitled "national sunday law".

i also had received this book years ago when i had some dealings with the sdas.. from reddit: "national sunday law involves a conspiracy theory which alleges that the united states government is on the verge of enacting a national blue law that would make sunday a day of rest and worship.

the theory depends on the idea that the pope is the antichrist and the mark of the beast is worshipped on sunday.

What you described deserves to happen to the Witness religion. Just think of the millions with ruined lives over the decades waiting on false promises... Glad I got Out long ago.

It’s true. No one can know for certain how long their ‘cult compound’ could be around with all the bad news happening!

The Governing Body is Restructuring the Org.and encouranging young ones to REACH OUT!

the governing body just doesn't let up on encouraging the young children to reach out to do free labor for the organization.

so another generation of young people with ruined lives.

another generation of young people that will get old and wake up in their 50s to realize they were in a religious doomsday cult.. and they are getting rid of some old workers that ran the branches of the organization, and giving them different assignments or maybe they are just sending them home, who knows.

You are correct that the “WTS passes the buck to..nebulous congregation(s) out there”… What the hell do they care?

This situation will simply add yet another category of needy person to the Jehovah’s Witness congregations.

So, from what I can gather and this may vary from place to place, they have : (1) pioneers who didn’t prepare for retirement (the most obvious); (2) other rank & file Witnesses who worked low paid jobs (no OT) closer to home so they wouldn’t miss meetings; (3) people with serious social ills who were led to believe the congregation was going to ‘take care of them’; (4) bethelites who got kicked out at age 50 or so (some may have gotten on their feet or employed by brothers with businesses)…(5).NOW, they are going to have even older potentially unemployable bethelites dumped on them!

This is entirely too many needy people in one organization.👎 When I got the hell out of the JW religion years ago, this situation wasn’t even on my mind.. I left after the 1995 Generation thing.. Now, the environment there is a disaster and potential powder keg, IMO.

i just read this.

don’t know if anybody here has seen the video.. the intended result of this is to obviously scare ‘faders’ out of the shadows.

now, they are being threatened with loss of association with their loved ones and friends.

For somebody like me who ‘Faded’ ages ago who had no family there since I wasn’t ‘born in’ this means nothing.. I was able to maintain a few friendships there for a long time. But, the friendships ended at some point. This was no surprise to me as most friendships (there especially) have an expiration date. They were like former co-workers on a job.. It is No loss really since life moved on…

The JW religion might gain a few people back here and there who will go back and ‘fake it’ for the sake of having that bit of association with whoever.. Sorry for the aggravation they are going to be put through!

Words cannot describe how much I hate and despise the Witness religion for its hypocrisy. I don’t have any use either for the rank & file who went along with this.

As you said HOSER: they’d be looking for a handout from my diligent hands. Thank God I’m long gone from this. I’m no longer there for them to try to bother me.. What are they going to be doing? Cannibalising each other? You have a steady stream of people leaving the religion.. Just who will be left there to shake down?? This isn’t going to be pretty.

There would be no peace there. I rest my case.

Yes, I certainly did know that people who are ‘cast aside’ (a polite term for being kicked out of bethel) 🤣 were told to ‘expect’ help from Witness relatives and friends in their ‘old’ congregation.

The problem is those people may not agree with this.. It’s one thing to get someone a bag of groceries until they get back on their feet. But let’s be honest here. These people who are in advanced age - are not getting ‘back on their feet’. They are expecting to be supported pure and simple. Hope everybody realizes this.

The religion really didn’t think this out and probably doesn’t care.. They probably just want the problem to go away, at least during their lifetime.

I will say it again: as somebody criticized for working who received the whole ‘shunning routine’ - I will not be targeted to give money to people who didn’t work or hardly worked and/or those who got kicked out of the religion’s compound because the religion didn’t want to pay for them anymore.

If I had listened to the JW religion years ago and quit my job to be in the full-time ministry, would anybody be supporting me today??? I doubt it.
