Sorry, but I wonder if you are a young person. I think everybody else on the thread is a mature adult.

Your answers are inadequate, simplistic and lacking and that is why I wonder if you are a kid. If you are an adult: no comment. Listen, I know a few JWs that cling to the religion and it wouldn’t matter to them WHAT they believe. I think you are in this category..But, so what? I have no desire to drag anybody away from the religion. I’m just grateful I have no family there.

The fact is: you have not made a defense for your ‘faith’ with your silly half-assed answers. You shouting “I don’t believe Bwa wa wa” is not an answer.

The sad part is if you walk away and dishonestly tell other misguided JWs that us ex-JWs don’t know what we are talking about. Everybody but YOU has painstakingly explained their answers in detail. You just sound childish and a trifle incoherent which sadly is how a lot of Witnesses sound!

It would be pointless from here on to reply to any of your posts.

You have to be kidding me. I have read through some of your posts and have to admit it is YOU who do not address what people say or explain in detail why you think they are wrong!

Other people put a great deal into their responses to you but you don’t want to hear it or won’t answer it intelligently.

Just quoting scriptures doesn’t do it. You don’t REALLY answer people or have a meaningful dialog. You just do a hit and run with a short sarcastic answer.

Thanks! Oh, by the way, the OP is unreasonable and wouldn’t know ‘truth’ if it hit them in the face.

I’m glad you gave that elder a piece of your mind about the hierarchy there…Yes, I believe the JW religion is shameful for many reasons but the fact that they have no REAL charitable use to anybody (especially in this day and age) is a more obvious reason they are worthless.

Also, you are right about any vulnerable JWs who may have received small favors (like getting rides to useless meetings, etc.) being in danger of having somebody’s ‘claw$ sunk into them’..It is VERY true that togetherness is a very dangerous thing in the JW religion! This is especially so if a person is older or even a single person.

I’m very glad I’m not in the religion anymore. But, I am especially aware (and always was) of the fact it is all so predatory. I would NEVER want these opportunistic people near me now trying to insinuate themselves into my busines$ under the guise of ‘being concerned’..Yeah! Like hell they are.

You bet the JW religion has a hierarchy. They can deny it all they want but they are full of it with all their titles and labels. When I was ‘studying’ they swore up and down they ‘had No clergy class’. After I was in a while I could see they do in fact have what I felt was a plain-clothes clergy.

I always felt they are a somewhat inferior copy-cat mirror image of the churches they are so jealous of. Too bad, though, that they don’t emulate the churches and have soup kitchens and programs for the community, etc.! They should be performing some REAL charity!

my brother worked at a grocery store at 16 years old.

he would miss tuesday's ministry school due to his work schedule.

Words cannot describe my hatred for these other JW elders with their hypocrisy that can ruin other people’s lives!

But, yet there is no accountability in this sick religion. It’s nothing but chaos. They should have a sign on the door saying ‘Let the Buyer Beware’….Thankfully, I didn’t buy their shit and wouldn’t be Retired if I did. They can rot.

The damage to people just goes on and on and it’s hit and miss depending on who you are and how gullible or subject to emotional blackmail. The perpetrators just go on to live a cushy life until they die; the gullible victims lead a life of poverty and hardship. The worst part is they suffer in silence because they supposedly ‘don’t want to bring reproach on Jehovah’. Yeah, we all heard that mantra. Of course ‘Jehovah’ is the whole organization of chaos of changing teachings somebody would have to be nuts to base life-altering decisions on.

Just Glad I’m Out of there.

In my case, I didn’t have to miss meetings back in the day to be told I should quit my full-time job. But, I ignored these meddling hypocrites..Thankfully, I worked until Retirement.

I commend the second individual you mention for NOT quitting his job either. He gets a star from me. Thankfully for him, common sense prevailed. Here he was somebody with NO education (who could have ended up on the street begging)..in an enviable situation to be put through school to enable him to get a trade so he could put food in his mouth!!….But, yet these sick hypocrites in the religion were trying to get him to harm himself for the rest of his life by giving up an opportunity he would be insane to pass up!!!

I had noticed just about all the older Witnesses telling me to quit my job were either well established in the workforce or already collecting their pensions! But yet these hypocrites had the balls to promote poverty for some younger person. There is no forgiveness for them, in my book.

There are a myriad of reasons I’m glad to no longer be in the JW religion. But, there is no way I would ever tolerate anybody coming up to ME to ask for money after what I was put through. People there who either never wanted to work OR were gullible enough to fall for the con about quitting their jobs are going to have to ask brothers with businesses for a job. I wouldn’t want them even looking in my direction!

given that us healthcare isn't free at point of contact and people have to pay for insurance, which can be expensive and is often linked to employment how do jws get on ?

if they are encouraged to take low paid or part time jobs so l assume don't get good healthcare insurance from their jobs .

how do they cope with medical bills?

What you say is true. I also got the sense that healthcoverage for many pioneer JWs was non-existent.

It is also true many other Non-JWs in the USA are also in the same boat due to very high health insurance costs. The problem with JWs, however, is they put themselves in the position (or are conned into believing) they should only hold low paid part time positions that naturally have No benefits.

I would never have considered working at a job where I didn’t have health coverage! In my opinion, these affluent JWs preaching poverty should ROT. I’ll never forget these sonofabitches trying to strong-arm me to quit my decent job when I was younger!

This is where people have to realize that not everybody is equally damaged by the JW religion. It’s hit and miss and depends on who you are.

If I had listened to these HYPOCRITES, I would have been in a terrible predicament and not been able to Retire. Can you imagine?? ..There is NO forgiveness for this religion and I’m sorry I never got the chance to properly tell off some of these aggressive busybodies who tried to tamper with my life.

Thankfully, I had the sense of my non-JW upbringing to resist it all!🙏🏻

JW GONE BAD:

I’m glad so many JWs are waking up in this pandemic.

As far as many of those Zoom cameras being turned off:..it serves the religion right for causing problems for people either because they weren’t ‘dressed right’ or some other aspect of their appearance. In some instances unwanted comments were made about something hanging on somebody’s wall - in THEIR own house no less. That was probably the last straw for some people!

I knew from the start this Zoom thing would not necessarily be well received because it is actually an intrusion into peoples’ homes. When somebody went to the hall and then came home, they closed the door and had privacy. Not so with Zoom. This also means a JW can’t ‘hide’ or get a break anymore. Some intrusive idiots imagine a person should always be available because they are presumed to be home in the pandemic. Q: “Brother, why didn’t you answer us?” A: “Because I was in the bathroom!”

Really now. This has gone far enough!

I'm happy about the increase

i know its weird to say something like this on this forum, but its how i feel about it.

i feel that way cause i see that covid has taken a tole on my dad who's growing older.

knowing that this will come as good news to him is somewhat comforting to me.

Good comments. Yes, people love their family members who are trapped in the JW religion (mostly because of sunk-cost fallacy although they’d never admit this).

I’m Glad I have no family members there but I have a few Witness friends I keep in touch with. It’s too bad I couldn’t even wish them Happy Holidays and Happy New Year like I would any other human being. That’s the shame of it all.
