10 years ago, I was 8, about to turn 9.
Pretty much everything is different now.
Especially the fact that I now get to watch Saturday morning cartoons.
today, i don't fear the elders as much, and i think that they fear me more.. how about you, how has 10 years made you better or stronger?.

a jw who works where i work saw a new age cd with an image of a rainbow on the cover, and immediately said "this is homosexual".
is this a widespread feeling among jw's, or fundamentalists in general?
Although I'm completely cool with the gay community, and do nothing but love and support them...
Rainbows do make me think of gay people. I see it associated with the gay community so much, it just makes me think of gay people... which isn't a bad thing.
They're very nice people with AWESOME senses of humor who tip well. Who cares what they do at home?
what importance do you place in the looks of a friend, or lover?.
does the interior stand out more than the exterior shell which is skin deep?.
.
I'm not going to lie... looks are a big deal to me.
I find it interesting how the little choices we make determine how we are perceived by people around us.
You'd be surprised how differently I'm treated from when my head is freshly shaven and when I have a 1/4" of hair... Its a world of difference.
I'll be honest and say that looks play a big part in how I approach people. I do judge people by their appearance.
if someone is willing to host them, send me your e-mail address in a pm.
i will send you 4 scanned jpg files, of the invitation & boe letters associated with it.. .
teaser: there are some brand-new, unprecedented features to this year's dc!.
I'm so doctoring this when as soon as I get back from lunch....
but tuesday is pizza day, so for now I've got to "Follow the Slice".
so this is it, the exercise thread.
share your tips and experiences and tell us what worked best for you, how you managed to lose the weight and whether or not you kept it off as time went on.
how did you keep your motivation long term?
I go to the gym twice a week. I do 5 minutes jogging on the treadmill, 20 minutes on the killer incline on the bike, 20 minutes on the stair master, and then run for 10 minutes on the treadmill, followed by a 5 minute cool down jog/walk.
Then I go lift weights... upper or lower depending on what day it is, for abot 45 minutes.
I haven't lost any weight since I've been doing this (since New Years) but I've went from 330 lbs and 19% body fat to 335lbs and 12% body fat.
to fill you in and explain my post....... i was raised as a jw but left (not baptised) at 16. i started studying again at 24ish and was quickly baptised and got disfellowshipped aged about 32ish.
whilst i was active as a jw i socialised plenty, but it did not involve copious amounts of drink or drugs.
during my times out i have very very occasionally smoked a little dope and have been drunk more often but by no means frequently.
I find no need to consume alcohol or use controlled substances to increase the pleasure in my life.
I do, on occasion, have a drink or two, but never get drunk or anything. One or two drinks does nothing to me, and I only do it maybe once a month.
Drugs are dumb. I have way too much good stuff going on in my life to let anything get in the way of that.
I do however, do wierd things with my mind. Instead of doing drugs, I do pain. I get tattooed once a week or so, and I get pierced regularly as well. I find the endorphin rush to be interesting, and it does wierd things with my head, but its all controlled by me.
even though you might think it's painfully obvious, explain why you chose your avatar and/or username.
it could help us faceless "netizens" get to know each other a little better.
open mind.
My name is Richard, but growing up, I was known as Richie.
It didn't bother me when my parents called me Richie, but for some reason, I hated it when others called me that. RichieRich, of course, was even worse than just calling me Richie.
For some reason, it just felt right to go by that name here.
My avatar was taken in the bathroom at the Kingdom Hall, shortly after a meeting with the elders.
and that's all i know.. he was 101 and appointed as a governing body member in 1977.. .

yesidid.
He died years ago, I think. The shell is finally dead too.
Someone do us all a favor and hum "Another one bites the dust"
as in with the law or in the community????
were jws able to say, see!
they should've stayed in the truth!
I work at a bar doing floor security.
One night last November at about 2 am, three guys who had been causing some trouble earlier got upset with me, and they all three tried to attack me.
Fast forward 20 minutes, I'm in handcuffs and there's three ambulances on the scene.
I was charged with three counts of felonious assault.
I spent 13 hours in jail while my lawyer fought with the DA over the charges. Once the charges were dropped, I walked out.
So yeah, I got in trouble with the law. but it wasn't my fault, and it didn't stick.
to ink or not to ink that was the question!.
the build up.
i was really excited about it and got up early to salute to the sun, cat to the ceiling and baby to the carpet (yoga).
Is it possible I am being asked to calm down on the tattoo front by a mere whippersnapper half my age! LOL! I will wait Richie, tempted as I
I'm not saying to calm down, I'm just saying to give your moment a chance to heal... you know the skin is the first line of defense against sicknesses, so the more you damage the skin (tattoo it) the easier you succumb to illness. I'm not trying to say you'll catch bronchitis, but you'll have increased chances of little sniffles and the like.
