I'm looking to get an apprenticeship if my husband's job pans out here...i LOVE tattoos....

Hope you find a nice shop to do it at, and they don't charge your ass off for it.

Even though I had a lot of fun while i was apprenticing to pierce, it did have its bad days.

Richie, I saw your lower arm with the desserts...I have to say that the peeps rocks!
that's gotta be one of the most original tattoo ideas I've seen in a long time. :)

That's what we're working on tonight!! One of the better ink companies (Intenze, check em out) just released a pastel set, and we're using that to cover the majority of the arm. I sent a picture of the outline to a friend of a friend who works for them, and he sent us the inks for free, as long as they can use the piece in their advertising. And then the guy with the ink company sent it to one of his friends, who edits Tattoo magazine, and he wants to publish it when it's done as well! It's nice, because it will the get the artist a good bit of noteriety.

I could hardly feel the one on the inside of my wrist.

I'd say the worse was the small of my back, followed by the top of my shoulder to my clavicle, then the inside of my elbow. The higher you go on the back of the calf gets pretty damn sensitive too.

how'd you know about the one on the inside of my wrist?

with all the tattoos i see .....how can that be true?

Because I'm INSIDE the industry.

for instance, we're working on my arm for 5 hours tonight. Now, for anybody else that would cost 750 bucks. For me, it'll cost 2 plates of chinese food, and a case of beer. Friendship goes a long way.

And just because people make 150 an hour, doesn't mean they're tattooing 8 hours a day. More than likely, its only 2 or 3. And most shops take 40 to 60% of that fee. Plus, artists are responsible for their own equipment...

As far as cost, most shops have a minimum. Here, the better shops charge about $150 an hour, and the minimum is half an hour. I'd say find the pound equivalent of 120 $, and plan to pay about half that.

Oh yeah, and you BETTER TIP!!

a small design that like that on your hip won't be bad at all. There's no way a design like that will take more than half an hour.

One problem you may run into is that the artist might want to do it a bit larger so he can get more detail into the poppy. Stand your ground, but listen. The artists DO know what they're doing.

Go swimming first. For one thing, it'll tire you out a bit, so you'll be calmer for the tattoo. Technically, you should stay out of the pool for 2 weeks afterward. But if you take REALLY good care of it, you can prob. cut that down to a week.

Plan for it to "heal" for 2 weeks. Some people heal in days (Thank god!) others take longer.

I went to the Memorial.

i'm just going to start at the beginning.. i was anticipating the memorial all day.

i was nervous but excited, kind of like standing in line for a roller coaster.. ok. so erika gets ready at her house, and i get ready at mine.

i'm wearing a black suit with a light green shirt, and a tie that had hues of green and yellow in it.

Why would you want to re-introduce yourself into this cult?

The last time those people saw me on their turf was at the memorial last year. I was dressed like a good little JW, and I was one of the crowd.

So since so much has changed, I felt it necessary to go back in there as a new person.

And that sealed the deal for me. It was the same thing it always was, just a building full of hypocrites. Why worry about it.

I'll never have to go back again, but it was nice to go back in, especially knowing that I would make some waves.

Which, for the record, I've recieved a few phone calls today from my contacts who are still witnesses, and were present at the memorial. Word on the street is, I'm living a good life, with a pretty girl, and doing what I want to.

It's exactly the message i wanted to convey.

What Do You Do To Show You Love Your Significant Other?

I work in a field that puts some pressure on my relationship.

As a professional piercer, its my job to look at people with their clothes off, and since piercing is usually a big deal to most people, they want to take pictures with me, or at least hug me before they leave.

So naturally, its weird for my girlfriend. but she understands, and deals with it.

When i get bored, I write silly little poems, about how much I love her left big toe, or something similar. It really puts a smile on her face.

So, I try and surprise her with little things, stupid little rings, or flowers, or a fancy dinner.

Being really spontaneous keeps her happy, and me too.

Ok, so Crumpet, where's it going? and do you have an idea of the design? or better yet have a picture?

And the whole lining vs. shading hurting more thing...

on a normal tattoo, the line work hurts more because its first. by the time there's shading, your skin is already in shock. When you have larger tattoos that require multiple hour sessions, you'll come to appreciate that shading hurts too.

i tried to post it as my avatar, and it went into the 'about me' section instead.

anyone know how to correct this?

i used photobucket, expecting it to go to the little square intro pic, and it's a gigantic photo on the side instead!.

on the home page, where it says, Welcome, You,

there's a gray box. Then to the right of that box, there's a list of links. the third one down says Upload / Change Photos.

so click that, then there's an upload form. You can upload up to 300 pictures.

I guess I wasn't refering to this post only, but what I have read and observed by his actions!! I just thought it might be a good idea to see someone to help him in dealing with his emotions!

I do post most all of my feelings pertaining to the Witnesses here, so i can understand you seeing that anger there, because it is present. But how do my actions show anger?
