I've found out- by watching too many Discovery Channel shows and reading various history/anthropology books- that the oldest god relics, that have been dug up, is actually a goddess figure. It seems that they came up with this goddess on simple observation alone. (only females bring forth life in humans and in nature). Thousands of years before the Adam and Eve God, Jehovah. But familiar stories that are also found in the bible. A flood to cleanse the earth, a son that will be the new god from a virgin, it goes on and on. If Jehovah is the god of your choice than celebrate that, but choose your god/goddess by looking at unbiased literature.

p.s. I don't think I was quite ready for this forum after recently leaving the jw's, I think I would've had a meltdown!

Somebody once said to me that spirituality is a journey, not a destination. And everyone is on different areas of their path.

No matter what your research and findings bring about, ultimately you have to decide what path you want to take. It's hard to know what to think or what to do when you go from having no options to a plethora of options. Just to let you know- it may take years to find out what you want to do... but one day you will know and no one will be able to sway you any different.

You wouldn't really want her to talk to you anyways.

Suggestion- Put the ball back in your court. Make her feel more uncomfortable than you ever have. You had this job first, let her go talk to the boss saying that your kindness is affecting her ability to work. Treat her like you would anyone else, stay true to yourself and I think she will eventually high tail it out of there. If not, your kindness will make her question the whole jw ideals.

I know- Being the new employee, why don't you ask her come with a group of you to lunch. (Others will see her reaction to you and not care for her "shunning" or her.) he he. Also, in front of others, ask her what she thought about the filing system, parking, whatever; and see what she has to say to you. No matter what happens, act like you would to any new employee. And have fun!!!!!!

I'm usually not this devious, but your story just brought it out in me. ha ha

Belief is a powerful thing. After being out of the jw's, I became disillusioned at the written word of men (or women).

I no longer hold onto the beliefs that say men who saw visions and said that god talked to them are really for real. I tend to think that these people are having a schizophrenic episode.

I too, can go write on paper in a cave and say that god or angels came to me, but I doubt anyone would believe me!!

Disillusioning yourself is a slow fragile process that is filled with self doubt and guilt. Ultimately, I have decided for myself that if I believe in a god/ godess, I know it's just a psychological illusion of feeling protected, safe, and helped.

But maybe humans need a god, like a kid needs magic, or thinking that stars are ancestors, and that there is a monster living in the woods.

what sort of people come to mind when you think of the term "cult" or "cultist"?

i used to think of really cheezy b-side movies with zombie like creatures wearing all white and frothing at the mouth as they rock back and forth singing hymns to their overweight leader standing on a soap box somewhere out in the woods preparing kool aid.

now i think of the witnesses!

I used to think people that were in a cult wore robes and obeyed some groovy looking master.

Now I think a cult is anyone who extremely obeys a man or a group of men that controls their life decisions.

JW's come to mind.

Oh this is going to be a fun post for me- I know it's corny, but I like to look up the meaning of dreams in this book I have "Dictionary of dreams". Sometimes it's really cool what ideas it comes up with. And I know alot of corny dreams that were written in the bible so maybe yours means something poetic as well.

I'll start by dissecting your dream bit by bit and then try to make sense of it at the end.

"being tried"- Your high social standing seeks punishment for petty misdeeds.

"in the woods"

- a relief from doubts

"standing around me in a circle"-

Your higher state of consciousness comes at the price of loneliness.

"guilty verdict... to be executed."-

WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR FEELING SUCH INSANE GUILT? (this is the actual meaning, not me asking you this)

"gun and shoots"-

a serious illness of the heart threatens and/or will feel invalidated for some time.

"wound... painfull"-

sadness due to parents waste of an inheritance and/or too much negative energy, high strung, emotional outbursts.

Number: 22-

will discover the secret of a scientific mystery

Number 38-

will have an excessive desire for gain

"purposeful shot, not intended to kill"-

could mean several things: an enemy is attempting to injure you through your friends; they want your life but are unwilling to earn it themselves; danger is in who you are not what you do; problems are not solved in one dimension but in three.

Here is just my unprofessional opinion, take it for what it's worth:

You have been judged too harshly by people around you and it's made your heart ache over the treatment you have been given. However, something inside you knows that this has not killed you and that you will be able to recover from this one day. You also feel as if you will always carry this feeling around with you (I think for a period of time you will and then you will heal ) and were shocked that these people didn't even seem to care that you were hurt.

My suggestion to you is- have a dream that the "bullet" inside you is gradually, day by day, turning into something that is healing. A Reeses peanut butter cup works for me!!
