snow in malibu yesterday.
.
this morning i had to scrape the ice off my windshield and back window.. on the way to work i saw many a frozen front lawn and most cars were covered with ice like mine.. all on the outskirts of los angeles.. it must be "global warming".. warlock.
warlock,
the scientists (there are two very vocal ones) who say that global warming is a myth, and that weird stuff is a natural phenomenon, have been shown to be on the bank roll of oil companies. i can provide sources if you like.
It must be "Global Warming".
actually, weird weather patterns like hot in some places while getting strangely cold in other places, is an indication that we are experiencing "global warming". disruption of local climates is global warming 101.

ahh the joys of living on your own and actually having to give a shit about how much money you have.
gone are the days when you needed extra money and you could just whip up a nice dinner for lover man, give him a kiss on the cheek, and be all, "sweeeetie.
can i have some moneeeey?
you know, it may sound strange to some people, but i actually sort of hope that i am always poor. money, the concept itself, makes me wanna run and hurl myself over the edge of the boat sometimes.
this last spring summer and fall, i wanted to try an experiement. i wanted to try living off of 10.00 a day, max. and you know what? i did, easily. and i had much to spare actually because i got into barter and trade wherever i went, with like minded individuals, and some days didn't even spend my 10 bucks at the grocery store. it was great! i didn't have a home in the traditional sense, but i had a great tan, and the roof of the forest was my bedroom wherever i went.
i say, if you can find the strength and will power, do the world a favour and free yourself from money as much as you can. this means that i will probably always be poor, in the eyes of people who think that money makes you rich. i, of course, beg to differ on that!
peace jojo!

i am curious, what amount people on this board from their experiences of being a baptised & active jw and their subsequent exit from the jw org (for whatever reason or reasons) are now either agnostic, atheist or do some actually still believe in god?.
your honest answers please.. lfcv.
hi xena,
that's interesting, that term "spiritual agnostic". as in you are not sure if spirituality exists? or that you are very liberal in your spirituality?
i have been hard on this term "spiritual" in the past. but it really reflected the fact that i had not really switched my definition/idea of what spirituality is from when i was a witnoid. i always associated spirituality with "supernatural" phenomena. but recently the cosmos has shown me that spirituality is nothing more than the evolution of our consciousness. expansion of consciousness. psychogenesis of man, so-to-speak. and everything that happens in the cosmos is a *natural* event, regardless of what it is, or if it is subjective or objective to the viewer/experiencee.
did i ever tell you that LT is one of the coolest christians i have ever met? ever? yup. for sure.
peace out!

i started a thread after i finished the first chapter of this book entitled something like, i'm an atheist.
i finished chapter three and i have to backtrack a bit, but i also feel the need to explain why since i was so vocal.. first, let me say that i think everyon should read the first two chapters of the god delusion by richard dawkins.
he brings up some very important points about religion and about science's place in our world.
skyking,
A theory is an idea not yet proven.
a hypothesis is a guess that needs to be proven either way.
a theory is something else. a theory is a group of hypotheses who have stood the test of time, peer review, and evidence. evolution is a theory, like gravity is a law. almost the same dif.
wikipedia explains further:
Scientific laws are similar to scientific theories in that they are principles which can be used to predict the behavior of the natural world. Both scientific laws and scientific theories are typically well-supported by observations and/or experimental evidence. Usually scientific laws refer to rules for how nature will behave under certain conditions. [3] Scientific theories are more overarching explanations of how nature works and why it exhibits certain characteristics.

i hope this clears things up for you.

OK, can anyone tell me where they hid all the half evolved animals
hi acadian,
"half evolved" implies that there is such a thing as "fully evolved", which is not the case. the animals, including ourselves, that we see around us today, are not a pinnacle of development. they are just the result of many mutations over millions of years.
in other words, if you would like to find something that is half evolved, you are not going to find it, because that is not how *biology* works.
all animals, in the entire history of the world, every single one, has been "fully" evolved, if that is the term you want to use. but it is a misleading term.

hope this is not a repost.
seems prince hosted a 'bash' with all the worldly entertainers from the golden globes,,,,not a 'brother' in sight,,,,sigh,,just bad association.... .
justin timberlake and cameron diaz, who announced last week that they'd split up, got into a heated argument at prince's golden globes afterparty early tuesday morning.
HA HA HA! good for him! kickin' it purplerain-j-DUB style!!

what are your beliefs based on and how has this been affected by your time as a witness?
What did this mean? Was I was scared of something? What do you think it meant?
heh, i think i know where you are going with this moshe. you are somehow linked with a soldier who died in the war. you are 56, so you would not have been born until after the war.
i guess i will find out tomorrow! :)

or possibly pay hansomly for the use of some third party's?
isn't implying that there is something wrong with taking the plane to a fishing lodge, the same as implying that CO's in calgary cannot use the COmobile to take a weekend in banff, for example? i see it as the same. of course, it is going to happen.
i mean, sure, it sucks to see our hard earned donations going to stuff like that, but it's a fact of life. same with taxes. the govt does lots and lots of crap with my money that i disagree with.
