Wonder what kind of a positive spin the young witnoids will put on this. "Mom, Dad! This is a great album! I think they may be studying! Can I buy it?"

Apologies for God

Well, a "miss read" on my part Serenity. I see your point.
CoC, no problem. I appreciate the links.
If there is a creator/god, then I have to hold it accountable. So many are ready to defend something that there is no way to understand. Been there, but slowly moving on past it now. Kind of a relief, actually.

Your mother is obviously a very humble person. It is sad though, as you say.
GOD is off the hook as far as believers go. Look at all it has given us. We are ungrateful sinners, if we don't see that.
I've got a canine in the back yard. I give him a house, water, dog food. After that, I'm off the hook too! Right?

Jesus didn't go to Super Bowl parties either. okay, okay, they didn't have Super Bowls back then. But they did have "games". They had gladitorial and other violent games in all the provinces under Roman rule. Jesus obviously did not approve of such violence, nor the praise and worship of the sportsmen and gladiators of their time. Therefore Christians today would not be entertained by the modern violence of sports or cheer for modern gladiators. Hosting and attending Super Bowl parties would be akin to Jesus or his followers attending the coliseum and cheering for the violence of that day.
I can hear Brother Loesch now...
Thanks a lot Undercover...you just loaded the lips of the GB!! LOL.

Soldiers of Jah
by cofty ini would like to propose an ethical dilemma for those who believe in the divine inspiration of the bible.. in the following scenarios i am not asking you what you would have done but rather, what you hope you would have had the courage to do.. scenario 1. you are camped on the east side of the jordan waiting for orders to cross into the promised land.
moses is nearing the end of his life but he has some unfinished business to take care of before he hands over to joshua.
he announces that he has had an instruction from god to take revenge on the midianites before he dies.

Israel was told to destroy them utterly.
If I were an Israelite soldier, I would have felt duty-bound to obey.
There you have it! A soldier of Jah.

Debator said "gleaned." It must be a real witness. Oh well.

Couple of things:
I think that debator is actually a VERY clever apostate. Wink, wink.
I resent the idea of "worshiping with a date in mind." We were pushed into survival mode. Faith was no longer the issue. It was THE time. We were told to be awake, to contribute, to be alert, to batten down the hatches, to change our lives, to contribute, to advertise, to witness! It is insulting to say that we were worshiping with a date in mind. It's a nice simple way to divert attention from the truth though.
I was not an adult during the years leading up to the "end of 6000 years." It is no wonder then that I spent many sleepless nights worrying about whether or not I was young enough to make it thru based on the faith and actions of my parents. Would my non witness relatives have enough time to find the "truth" and be saved? What a huge burden was placed on my witness family to make sure that their loved ones believed. I can't imagine...
With all of the statements here...does the "2 witness rule" apply?
