"Some who are afflicted with painful “memories” have expressed appreciation for elders who make regular visits or even telephone calls to check to see how they are doing. Such contacts need not take a lot of time, but they show that Jehovah’s organization cares. When the afflicted one realizes that his Christian brothers truly love him, he may be helped to recover a considerable degree of emotional balance."
Does anyone besides me see the subtle, but complete manipulation in this paragraph??

CAN WE BE BETTER THAN THE GOD WE SERVE?
by Terry inbe careful what you say god is and what he wants; you may be saying more about yourself than you realize.. it may well be our personal taste in religion is revelatory of our basic character.. _____.
look at the devout islamist whose worship consists of blowing people up or cutting off heads.. contrast that to those hindi who sit with legs folded in their own lap contemplating bliss.. now contrast both the above to somebody who believes service to god is visiting the sick in hospitals.. _____.
instead of there being 3 different gods served--there might only be an extraordinary unveiling of each person's heart and mind!.

"THE GOD YOU WORSHIP REVEALS WHAT HIDES IN YOUR HEART"
Uh...that's pretty simple, and a very powerful statement.

Words that irritate

y'know, 'something innane business solutions' and such balderdash.. i loathe that word now.

Looking Back, Do You Ever Think You Loved Jehovah God?
by minimus inas a child, i was made to believe that i loved my mom and family and close friends but that i loved no one more than jehovah god.
did you ever really love him?.

I don't think Jehovah really expects us, or wants us to love him more than our family. If he or it exists, he probably just wants us to love.

Why do you come here?
by love2Bworldly ini come here to learn, but i also come here because it feels like a private club and i'm privy to be a member of the "in" crowd.
it's a great place to socialize.
does anyone else feel that they are a member of a special "club" when they come here, that only some people in this world will understand the jw world?.

Watchtower In The Window
by watson inevery time i see this new "logo", jw.org, i'm taken back to the days in the late 60's and early 70's when we used to put a watchtower in the rear window of our cars when on the way to our vacation..er, i mean, the district convention (that's what they called it back then).
then, some years later we were "admonished" to not put the watchtower in the rear window of our cars while on the way to the dc.. how long before they council the "friends" to not bring "undo" attention to the organization?.
boring subject?
