Would you wiki?
by LennyinBluemont init seems to me the primary power of this discussion forum is the collective knowledge, insight and research regarding the jw experience.
i would like to propose that a section of this board be set up and maintained as a wiki-pedia-type reference source regarding various issues.
this would be the next evolution of the "best of" area.

Is the Watch Tower name going away?
by garybuss inis the watch tower name going away?
i'm seeing more use of the "jehovah's witnesses" name where the watch tower name once was such as the sponsors of the summer conventions.
is this new, or am i just noticing it?

Probably not a big thing, but I did notice that when you write a check to the society for a contribution, they want you to make it payable to the
Watch Tower. 2 words. I've always thought of it as the Watchtower.

30 Minute Public Talk-CONFIRMED
by stillajwexelder ini can confirm (as there seems to be some doubt) at the service meeting last night during the item about the new watchtower, a letter was read by the po.
the public talk is to be 30 minutes long.
this is to allow for more association and ministry.. lengthy negative introductions about the state of the system of things/deep last days etc are to be heavily curtailed.

They will make up for the shortened public talks with their new 4 day District Convention format!!!!
We did not get this info (shortened talk) at our school and service meeting last night.
I know what it is....it's a planted note of disinformation to discover which congregation "stilla" goes to...ouch.

Does Anyone Know Any of the Newer GB Members? Please share your stories.
by neverendingjourney ini have read some threads here that suggest that anyone thinking big changes are coming to the watchtower due to all of the new gb appointments is fooling themselves.
its been said that ted jaracz has been heavily involved in selecting new gb members and wants to ensure that they all share his hard-line vision for the religion.
i must admit that i thought there would be big changes by now since six of the nine gb members were appointed within the last eight years.

James Penton claims big Watchtower revelations to come...
by slimboyfat inhe commented on another site:.
oh, i must mention: when barbara and rud publish, they will shake the foundations of the watchtower society, and i will have to rewrite many parts of apocalypse delayed to fit with the newly revealed information.
no one knows the dry rot that has existed in that organization as do they.

For the large Army of our valued sisters!!! A Large Army One lazy summer day I sought the shade of an oak tree, And just as I began to doze, something awakened me. It sounded kind of like a drum; the ground below shook, too. And in the distant horizon, a woman came in view. But wait, there's another woman, and another at her heels. One woman became hundreds, thousands, it simply was unreal! On their heads were helmets; they carried shields of faith. Breastplates covered up their hearts, well girded were their waists. An iron sword they each possessed, held tightly in their palms. Could this be the army of women prophesied in Psalms? Their eyes were fixed straightforward; they marched in perfect time. Then I recognized some of their faces! Yes, these were sisters of mine! See there that single sister...Satan really put her to the test! And though it wasn't by choice, she accepted the gift of singleness. And there, that older sister, though her husband doesn't believe, You'll find her out in service, every morning, noon and eve. My sister here lost her husband, in death, yet she marches through her trial. 'He's just on an extended vacation', she says, 'just resting for awhile.' My sister there lost her husband when he simply went AWOL. He dropped his sword mid-battle, yet she keeps marching tall. Oh yes, and there's my sister with her young ones single file. She keeps the family marching while her husbands on the front lines. This sister here never misses a step! Her life must be ideal, But the things she experiences behind closed doors she'll never reveal. Yes, despite all of these challenges, the women march on strong. The old, the young, the strong, the weak, they all keep trudging along. And then, like lightening, one of them stepped right up to my face. 'How dare you rest!' she said to me. 'There's no time left to waste!' 'Here, take this sword and take this shield, this breastplate you must wear.' 'We cannot rest until the good news is preached everywhere!' And so I found my place in line, no time left to debate. Now that I see the urgency, my sleep would have to wait. No time for insecurities, no time left to shrink back. Just time to get this preaching done, Satan's missiles to attack! So next time you sit down to rest, or get the urge to snooze, Or if you start to tire out while preaching the good news, Look to your left and to your right, and surely you'll be strengthened. Rejoice and thank Jehovah for his great army of women!

A Farewell to 'Lost Souls'
by Gill inafter very little discussion and even contact with my parents in the last few months, they seemed to decide, either for themselves, or maybe they were put up to it, to confront me on my view of the watchtower society and condemn me, my husband and children to death.....any time soon.....when armageddon comes.
i'm afraid they continually called me an apostate and told me how apostates are , 'evil, horrible, bad and satanic people!
' i asked them if they knew what an 'apostate' was and why they didn't look the word up in the dictionary.

I did say that they had to give me the mags because otherwise they would not know what was in them.
