i just remember thinking when i was younger that jws were the only ones who believed they were the only true religion and the only ones who would survive....all other religions believed that every religion would be acceptable which obviously meant including jw so from a purely logical point of view it was better to be a part of the one religion that believed they were the only true one because you were covered either way.....logic isnt the same as love though..i was a jw because i loved j and now i dont but i find myself falling back on my logic even though i dont even want to live tomorrow far less forever..its a kind of just in case scenario which is what you are also stuggling with....i think

POLL - How many elders/MS/microphone passers/literature slingers/sound guys
by Pwned in.
i've noticed there are a lot of jw's in good standing on here these days... i know its a small sample but it seems promising.. any current circuit overseers/district overseers post on here, that would be crazy.
i think its pretty cool actually

is your question...how many posting now are still doing these things...i guess most of us used to do one or all of the things mentioned...i did and i could get most of them back now i think if i just got my hair cut....did mikes about a month ago....was asked to say the prayer at the group a couple of weeks ago..but refused much to the consternation of the conductor who had never come accross this before..never been asked since...i would read anytime they asked though cos i love reading..but they never ask..i had a talk 2 weeks ago....about astrology..i said regardless of what the bible says its stupid anyway.....
i think anyone here could claim they were a co do bethel gb still...but i think they should provide evidence without revealing themselves

the wt has already mentioned this because it is not new...there is a video documenting this phenomena...wt stance is its not nessercary to explain miracles by natural events....and they have a point...either you believe it was a miracle or you deny the whole story...for close to a million people to have passed through unharmed they would not have even started if the whole procession was subject to the vagueries of the weather...we are talking millions of gallons of water being held back and then released at the right time and in an order that killed egyptians but let remaining jews escape out the other side so they must have been acting in faith....so the whole account is either true or it isnt...and its not a wt story..its in the bible..so sup to you believe it or not but dont try to explain it....i believe it......i just dont care about it anymore

k....i guess my point is then that if there is no punishment for being in the wrong religion...and the benefits of being there outweigh the disadvantages..ie do whatever your conscience allows you to do but no need to cut off links to family and friends..then that would be the prudent course to take

What would your conscience permit you to do that an average JW wouldn't do?
by JH in.
i didn't mind going to any bar, if i felt like it.
i know that the average jw wouldn't have went to these places.

What Profound ironies do you know about?
by Siddhashunyata inin another thread big tex related a story about the memorial wine that was so ironic that i thought maybe others saw profound irony in some of their experiences.
for example i recall a brother who gave up a military pension 2 years before retirement in order to pioneer for jehovah.. he would deride another brother for working long hours at his business ( auto repair business) and who spent virtually no time in field service.
years passed, the pioneer brother became needy and had to stop pioneering in order to work while the other brother had saved enough to retire and pioneer.
