good for you glofishy...how stupid does someone have to be to differentiate between someone who has made a mistake and is trying to correct it and someone else who doesnt care and so wont be at the kh anyway....i did the same at the assembly last w/e

when i was df and went to another halls mem...an old friend came to speak to me out in the car..she asked how i was and i told her well ok but you do know im disfellowshipped dont you...she thought i was joking..and when i managed to convince her she apologised to me....why

so carefully faded wore a borderline skirt showing some knee and no pantyhose...to keep the wife happy for another year....hmmm...interesting

my experience and observations have already been posted on...yet another mem thread.good grief.....and power of the holy spirit...worth reading even if i say so myself....tijkmo

i remember something from a few years ago that a new elder from bethel told me happened in his cong..they had an anointed elder and he gave the talk every year but he was so incoherent he shouldnt have been...so new elder suggested to po (a bethel elder..ie not just an elder in bethel) that someone else should give the talk and po agreed...come the pre mem elders meeting po asks the anointed elder if hes ok for giving the talk and he says yes and then po asks if eveyone else is happy with that and eveyone says yes which leaves new elder to say no...making it appear as if he wants the assignment for himself which he doesnt...everyone else then agrees with him- someone else is assigned- anointed elder stops going out in fs with new elder- never goes back to a memorial in that hall- but goes to his sons hall in ireland....where he gives the talk.....and they are going to rule over us...tijkmo

who remembers their first day at school

i remember mine...it was in the days when all pupils gathered daily for a service to start the day even though it was not a religious school...anyway my sister had started the same school the previous year and my parents had informed the school that she would not be attending the daily service..not a problem..except for some reason they assumed that because i was the same surname the school would make the connection that i wasnt to go into service...but they didnt and so i found myself right at the front of the hall on my first day not even 5 years old in my new blazer and short trousers with all the other pupils behind me knowing i shouldnt be there..so i started crying..and first my teacher came to see what was wrong but quickly got frustrated because i couldnt explain myself..so she smacked me for crying and kept smacking me to get me to stop crying and then got the headmistress to smack me to get me to stop crying until eventually time was up and they had to cancel the service.....result...still loved school though...tijkmo

hey datsdethspicable....that was dethspicable (cant even say it properly now) at least mine was a misunderstanding and not an eveyday event...and apart from the usual teenage name calling i didnt really have a hard time in school..(prob cos i was gorgeous..lol..well i was funny to compensate)...

my little neice has just started school and at the end of last year she asked me....'uncle ian do you do christmas'....i said 'no'...she said 'im the only one in the class that doesnt do christmas'...i said 'i know great isnt it' to which she appeared to agree.....later on i was telling her mum about our conversation and when i came to the bit about saying 'i know great isnt it to which she said yeah' my 5yr old neice (who i thought was sleeping on the couch) sat up and said..' i didnt say it was great!!!!'

Does disfellowshipping work?

i am going to conduct a little pseudoscientific experiment here.

my hope is to prove without a doubt that disfellowshipping causes more problems for the jw's than it solves.

im with willyloman on this...when i leave it will be because i was disfellowshipped wrongly.....and although now reinstated it has been too damaging....i was talking to an elder recently who had slandered me during proceedings but wasnt actually on the jc....and i mentioned that the original decision to disfellowship had been wrong and he actually started smiling as if the very idea of a mistake was inconceivable....he soon stopped when i told him to wipe the smile off his face before i wiped it off for him

men are from mars..women are from venise......surely some mistake..women are from venice....anyways bud sorry for what you are feeling or experiencing....surely cant be much worse than being forced to remain in a relationship where you feel nothing ....i know....horrible horrible horrible...even worse when ones spouse is still in love and is desperate for that love to be recipricated...hope you both find peace

OK, Yet Another Thread About the Memorial good grief

there are umpteen threads about the memorial already.

did anyone else ever get a weird feeling as the emblems were passed?

even when i was a hardcore dub, i always had a strange feeling in my gut.

i got 'passed over' (tijkmo) tonight when the emblems came round...i was sitting in the back row at one end with an elder at the other end of the row and no-one in between...emblem passer- nervous ms - came to our row and leaned over me to pass plate to elder....i looked at him as if to say...oi ive been reinstated for a year and a half...what does it take to be forgiven...but saw he was nervous and he was pointing to the lobby and decided not to make an issue....not so the prat elder....mutters away to himself and makes 'what an idiot' type gestures.....anyway as the wine came round i worked out what he was trying to do....he was passing the emblem to the furthest part of row to be passed back to me so i could hand it to him and he could easily move out to the foyer...as he got nearer with the wine i caught his eye and showed i understood what he was trying to do and he said thanx for working it out and then the elder said in a loud voice...make sure he doesnt miss you out this time....what a prat

An Elder Told Me.... Many To Be Disfellowshipped Soon...

an elder told me the book is jehovah's latest provision to cleanse his organization.. he said soon all people that have drifted, inactives, and others baptized and not complying with the biblical mandates for a jw, will be visited and given an option to shape up or ship out.. he said that if the person refuses the help offered by the congregation they'll be notified of the date of disfellowshipping and given time to appeal the decision.. he was so happy stating that this way jehovah's organization was preparing for the final clean-up before armageddon.

he sounded so convincing that it almost made perfect sense what he was saying.

i got goose bumps listening to his reasoning.. dy

hes talking rubbish.....mainly cos most of the elders couldnt be bothered putting that much effort in....+there is always the risk that some might respond thereby creating even more work

im just back from the memorial and something occured to me that i had never thought of before.....if the holy spirit is able to get accross to the anointed that they are anointed leaving them in no doubt...how come it is unable to convince those that take the emblems wrongly(and the org recognizes that there are plenty that do that) that they shouldnt be taking them.....you would think it would be in its interests to stop any wrong partakers since the end being ever nearer is based to a large extent on the number of anointed remaining....tijkmo

i am going to the memorial because i am still confused and stressed and discombobulated on the jw issue.

i know in my heart it is "not" the truth.

my family keeps stopping by unannouced and seeing if i am going.
