  Watchtower study - so long and so boring

  i remember going to sunday meetings...the public talks went by fast (sometimes).

  but the watchtower study to me was so boring and not interesting at all.

  it felt longer than the public talk.

  what song couldn't you listen to....

  what is the most ridiculous song that you couldn't listen too.. because of so called bad lyircs (maybe misheard lyrics), sexy beat or because fo the person who sang it didn't have the proper morals?.

  mine.... couldn't listen to ac/dc because it meant they went both ways.

  fleaman.......you beat me to it.........'luckily' another one bites the dust was not a queen classic(but get down make love was much worse)....i did play it backwards(i still have lps and a record player) and if you get the speed right then you can make out something that with a bit of suggestion sounds not unlike the words 'decide to spoke marijuana' if you were drunk stoned or on medication in which case your ability to do anything backwards is severely limited

  i remember the judas priest trial when they were accused of putting in backward masking that made 2 boys attempt suicide...and they argued successfully that backward masking was a recording technique and they as a band had no knowledge of recording so if there was anything in the music it was put in by technicians and not the artist themselves..they said they had listened to the lp backwards and found nothing that encouraged anyone to kill themselves..however they had found a phrase encouraging the listener to 'eat chocolate cake' and they then played it in court and there it was clear as a bell

  did the serpent lose legs or feet as means of movement as a result of the divine curse recorded at genesis 3:14?.

  at genesis 3:14 we are told: "and jehovah god proceeded to say to the serpent: ?because you have done this thing, you are the cursed one out of all the domestic animals and out of all the wild beasts of the field.

  i am 20 years old and i left the organization when i was 17. there are of course many gorey details which i will not get into right now... but i just wanted to say how happy i am to have found this fourm.

  as many of you remember, we were always instructed not to read anything about jehovah's witnesses that wasn't written by the organization.

  well, that instruction stuck, and this is the first time i three years that i have dared to even look.. needless to say, i found some very disturbing information.

  i put this in scandals cos i dont care whether or not snakes ever had legs-and i dont think it is much of a scandal either way...its just i knew it was in the wt but once again i find the index does not direct you to it..this is happening too frequently

  ive put this back in cos it is worthy of repetition...(i shall do it a 3rd time a little later so that everyone gets the point!)....the answer to the question is not the relative point..it is the hiding of it...if someone had come across the pic that 'it support' mentioned and wanted to know what the wts say about it then the most obvious way to do that would be to use the 'index' re the scripture or the relevant words to direct you to the specific article it is discussed..but that doesnt happen btw...lol @ LT & it support banter oh and another thing......why are LTs posts always so damn tidy

  evil....centre parcs is a bit like yosemite without the mountains..yellowstone without the geysers..disneyland without the rides..a kind of upper class butlins

  crumpet....its because crowds of witnesses used to go that it got recommended against...allegedly they used to get up to all sorts of wild behaviour..over drinkin fornicatin rowdiness..it was decided to encourage witnesses not to go before centre parcs decided to ban them as a lot of pubs around the m25 did

  i always thought kh's were used for kh business only.... the weekend shooting death of harvey county sheriff's deputy kurt ford could lead to murder charges today against a newton man.. several of those who know greg moore said his life began deteriorating several years ago after he stopped attending alcoholics anonymous meetings in the jehovah's witnesses kingdom hall just up the street from his house.. "he drank a lot -- i know that," said doug foulk, who lives in the neighborhood and worked with moore at excel industries in hesston for several years in the 1990s.

  yeah...they're called elders meetings...then they all go to the pub after

  the directive from the society is that the KH will not be used for any other function.

  not entirely true...if a kh was to be needed for a relief campaign or commandeered by the military this would be done willingly and not under duress...its somewhere in the elders manual..i shoulda kept mine.....they'll be setting up polling booths next
