I was recently told during bible (scripture here/there) study that anything negative about the society was apostate. I asked but what if the evil apostate backs his/her evil claims with concrete facts?

All I got was an incoherent tirade about postates mixin truth with lies, and artfully contrived stories - After which I said, ok but what if the postate backs his/her evil claims with concrete facts?

my story

hi, i found this discussion forum and felt a need to tell my story, and prehaps talk to people who have an understanding of what it feels like and means to be brought up a jehovahs witness.

i was practically born into a jehovahs witness family, there was my mother, my sister and myself, my father (a non-believer) left when i was 3. i can remember my mum telling me that i would never get to school as armagedden would be here before then, then i can remember her saying that i would never get to high school as armagedden would be here.... it was a kind of running theme, mum always lived expecting the end of the world the next day.

mum re-married when i was 6 and her new husband quickly became an elder in the congregation, i also gained 2 step-sisters and a step-brother, who did not live with us but their mother who was not a jw.

I had a very similar feeling when I was warned not to listen to apostates. A couple of the"friends" came over and spent 2hrs studying/reading scriptures warning against apostacy,

the talk given today sounded pretty convincing.

facts were stated about how our body is designed to live forever (the brain, blood vessels etc) and how all these intricated details about the human body raises us to ask the question: "did not jehovah design us with the purpose of living forever?

now i've read the threads about how there just would not be enough room in the world for all those people.

When I asked my bible study conductor why those Jesus resurrected didn't live forever, he said because the ransom sacrifice hasn't been paid yet. Also he said that Jesus performed his miracles (healing the sick, resurrecting) to give people a glimpse of the kingdom that would come.

Regarding Matt 8:11, I'm sure the jw response would be that since Jesus will be ruling at the time, earth would fall under the juristiction of his Heavenly kingdom,
