Next thing you know she is screaming, followed by some upchucking! We run in the bathroom to see what was wrong. All she had to do was hold up the tube of toothpaste........and we were rolling on the floor laughing!!
She grabbed preperation H out of her bag by mistake!
i for one, would blindly trust just about anyone on this forum, just the fact of knowing that you already were a jw.. does this mean that jw's in general are better people or are we a very close bunch of people?.
If the question was different, i would say yes. (brought up with better morals?) yes. Better? No!
I grew up in the "truth". Did it make me a good, well behaved, non swearing, all around good kid? Yes! I left at 18. Did it help me then? NO!
I was so restricted when in, that all hell broke loose once they df'd freed me!

Its funny.....I was only 8 years old then in 1975. I dont really remember the big deal, because my parents were out, and my older sister dragged us to the hall.
But my step mom had called me not that long ago.....saying "honey, armegedon is right around the corner....you really need to come back"
I told her strait out,,,,,,, Its been right around the corner since i was born and then some! She agreed, and said she gets discouraged too......but this time.....it is so close!! Why is this time any differnt than the last???

Guys, I love heated debates, but we need to cut some slack to the newbies who
still do everything the WTS tells them to do (except avoid apostates).
I havent posted on this thread......but have been reading it. Thats simply one thing I dont get. If people are to come on an apostate forum and argue that the wts is right.........what about all the stuff they say about not going on the internet? Not to associate with appostates?
Rosalee, we have all been where you are now. If your willing to come "chat" with apostates, Then maybe you would be willing to take a step back and look at what is actually going on in the WTS also. You dont have to tell them you did.......cuz like you said, not telling isnt lying right? Look at some of the threads here in the Best Of section.......and tell us what you think!

It is funny, my bf told me that he read back in 1975, in the Milwaukee news paper that the JW's claimed armagedon was coming........so yes, It was well known!

i have a very close friend, who is still an active dub.
we have known each other since we were kids and we have been able to maintain a strong friendship - we are actually more like brothers than friends.. we have reached a truce - i don't try to talk him out of being a dub and he doesn't try to talk me out of being an apostate.. we have both worked hard to honor this rule.. my problem is, i am the "godfather" of his son.
meaning if something should happen to him and his wife, i would raise his son.. i have a very close relationship with the boy, he is 7 and smart as a whip.
Boy what a tough question! I can agree with both sides here. But I tend to lead towards going. Only reason is because he is only 7 years old. He doesnt understand why you dont go. All he knows is he wants you to be there to support him, and be proud of him....I see nothing wrong with that.
He can show unconditional love outside the Hall.
Yes, he can and should. But I dont think it will affect a seven year olds thinking on religion, if he shows up this one time! Or even if he went to his baptism. It shows that no matter what the child does, even if you dont agree with it, you will love him no matter what! Opposite of what the JW's teach.......and that is something that child will never forget.

i think all people can communicate at a higher level for eg how many can times do you and your partner think of the same thing at the same time?
or you can be thinking of a person and they ring you?.

Well.......I was told by a psychic I am psychic. Did I believe her? Nope.
About 6 months ago, I joined a psychic forum, and for the heck of it, paid 8 bucks a month to take classes. According to the psychics on there, everyone has the ability....some dont know, some do. But if you practice meditation, and do certain exercises....you can highten your ability.
I didnt finish the classes....but they were interesting none the less. I have alot of times I go to pick up the phone to call someone, and it rings in my hand and its them. Or just think of someone, and they call. But I dont know If I would believe it to be psycic or not.
Maybe I am and thats why all these spirits keep bugging me?? (ok, waiting for funky to comment) lmfao
