Goodbye, my sweet sister
by sweetface2233 ini was raised as a witness and have been miserable for my entire existence.
i have hated every moment of it.
after about 10 years of struggling, i decided 2 years ago that i was done w/ the charade and wasn't going to return to the meetings.

(((sweetface))) I'm so sorry for what you are going through. It is truly sad that simply choosing a different path of life results in being accused of becoming a degenerate with no morals or standards.
Maybe one day, the things you said to her in the heat of the moment will give her something to think about. You will find much support here from those who have been through what you are going through.

Bringing Children Into This World
by Mysterious insince leaving the jws how has your opinion of "bringing children into this world" changed?.
it floored me the other day to hear a 19 year old non-jw say she didn't want to bring kids into the world because of the state it was in.
it struck me as a very jw thing to say, or at least something i would not expect from a young person..

The world is a much better place now than it used to be. I think that the idea that life and the world is SO horrible is perpetuated by the media. As I see it, the only difference in the world today that makes it seem worse is that technology enables us to watch terrible events real-time, in our faces and over and over. Watch the network news, and you will think the world is a terrible place in which every other person you meet is out to do you bodily harm. But put crime in perspective with population, and you will find it is not so bad.

Packing ?
by rwagoner injust curious if any other xjw's carry concealed weapons on a regular basis ?
because of my work (job that pays the bills) and my business (will pay the bills somday) i got into the habit shortly after leaving the dubs.
now i am a solid supporter of a law abiding, qualified citizen's right to legally carry.

Make up: Love it or loathe it?
by Crumpet ini have just gotten around to taking off last nights trowelling and what a relief that is!
i rarely wear make up - maybe once a month, so i probably go over board.
i feel like my skin just suffocated for 24 hrs.. what do you love or loathe about make up?

Love it! I don't feel completely dressed unless I have it on. I've also switched to the mineral makeup and won't go back to the liquids.
Wearing makeup doesn't mean you have to look like you've been dipped in a vat. Makeup can look very natural if it is applied correctly- it just takes a bit of practice and the right kind of makeup. Too many people slap it on like they are going on camera.
The biggest mistakes made with makeup is wearing the wrong colors and not knowing how to blend, blend, blend! (IMO) You can spot failure to blend in a heartbeat -we've all seen the rectangular strip of blush blobbed on the cheeks with the little brush that comes in the compact and the line where the incorrect color of foundation ends like it was put on with a paintbrush. Eeek!

Your Personality is Somewhat Rare (ISFP) Your personality type is caring, peaceful, artistic, and calm. Only about 7% of all people have your personality, including 8% of all women and 6% of all men You are Introverted, Sensing, Feeling, and Perceiving. When I took the full Meyers-Briggs, I came out INFP.
