Eat less, move more. I try to use fruits & veggies as the main part of my diet, followed by protein, then carbs.
I'm aiming for an hour a day on my treadmill as well instead of using it as a clothes hanger.
typically, by the end of the summer, i usually take off some weight due to good exercise and better eating.
then, in late fall and in the winter, it gets tough again.....what do you do to keep the weight off or if you've put a few pounds on how do you keep them off??
?

so i'm riding in a car the other day with a j-dub.
on the radio, i have it turned to a station that plays the occasional christian rock type music.
a song comes on that has lyrics.
I loved Stryper! I don't think my parents knew they were a Christian group so my tapes were never an issue.
I was dinstinctly uncomfortable with Christian music even for a few years after I left. I didn't know how to process it. Now I enjoy it. The church that we go to has a full live band, and it's great. I really like it now. It is not boring and pirated like the crap we grew up with.
I have a mixed cd of worship music in my CD player. When my Mom was here in August, I went into the bank and left her in the car with the kids and took longer than I anticipated. When I got back in the car, it was on. Had I been in the car, I would have skipped over the cd just because I don't like to shove it in her face, but the look on her face was priceless- just staring at the CD player. It was the same look my parents had the first time they saw Christmas decorations in my apartment - the deer in the headlights look. I just reached down and casually changed the CD and acted like nothing had happened.

question is?which road will he or she take?.
1.) How long did it take you to decide to leave the organization
once you knew it was no longer the "truth" ?
About 10 years - I was around 14 when I figured out that it all didn't add up. As soon as I no longer lived under my parent's roof (18 1/2) I started missing meetings as much as I could. Then I got pregnant and realized that it was time to get off the fence. There was no way that I was going to put my child through what I went through growing up.
2.) How much harder of an influence was it to weigh the decisions
on leaving, realizing you had family and friends in the organization ?
No effect at all. I had already figured out that they were not my true friends, and I knew my parents would not end the relationship either.
3.) If you had to do everything all over again would you have done
things differently or exactly the same ?
I would have wanted to have the courage to get out much faster than I did. 10 years is a long time to torture yourself sitting on the fence.,
Getting married at 18, followed closely by getting baptized when I knew I didn't really believe in it. Almost a tie for dumb between those two.
i'd probably have a pretty well stocked backyard machine shop, complete with lathe(s), milling machine, welding gear, etc.
i'm a fitter and turner by trade, so it kind of makes sense...
I would love to get back in to making jewelry.
for the two xmas's we have been 'out', wifey and i have celebrated christmas quietly with the grandkids and a few family.
although we have had a tree - somewhat hidden from view inside - we have not ever put a light or decoration outside.
this week i proposed to wifey that i light the large conifer in the back yard this season.
Go for it! Especially if your don't care what they think any more.
Mine go up the day after Thanksgiving.
i had to travel to another newspaper owned by the company i work for to learn some of their software today.
it's an open office with everyone in one room, and we had a lot of interesting conversations on all sorts of subjects.. at one point a reporter made a comment about a photo he was running, and noted that the woman had made comments that it was only with the help of the lord that she had been able to move her radio shack store to its new location.
one of the other reporters said that it was good that jesus had died on the cross 2000 years ago so that he could be available to help her out.
Sounds like fun - and I like to hear that some teenagers are doing their own thing!
i myself cannot miss project runway.

I kept looking for the belly dancers to match the music.
How utterly pathetic.
i posted another version of this a few months back.
at the time i asked for comments on it, and subsequently ignored almost everything anyone told me.
" others recommended a differet tone.
Confession, that was a woderful letter, and I did take the time to read it all. As usual, you excel in clearly expressing your thoughts and feelings. You write as you speak, and there is no misunderstanding the intent of your letter. I pray that somewhere inside, your Mom has the strength to acutally consider what you said in this letter and take it to heart.
Take care, you and your daughter both. I read a while back that you are moving? Please keep in touch, and we wish you the best of everything.
