  this is true wealth.

  so many people have departed from the christian faith because of love for money, whether it be paper money, gold and silver, real estate, et cetera.

  poster fernando makes the statement on another thread that we are all "fallen, imperfect, dysfunctional" .

  everybody.. i get the feeling that this is not too far removed in its thinking from the wt statement that apostates are mentally diseased, now i am aware that fernando is perpetuating the late doctrine of original sin, and his words were about all mankind, not just us on jwn.. but do you believe you are cursed by what a fictitious couple did in a fabled garden around 6,000 years ago ?

  does that make you imperfect, fallen and dysfunctional ?.

  i have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.

  i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.

  maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.

  9/11 Conspiracy nuts...60% of Americans are you KIDDING!!!!

  60% of americans in one servey think the government did it.....even though there is no sold evidence.

  let me spell it out.....a huge airplane full of fuel hit the building plowing thru the steel supports, thousands of witnesses, and video fotage, it almost flew through the building with debris blowing out the other side.

  although it appears in the footage there is alot of smoke but no fire, right?

  I've wondered what the practical application of this knowledge is. I mean, I've no doubt there's collusion between political forces within and without governments to some degree. There will always be greedy and manipulative people in positions of power (but not exclusively)

  My question is, how does this affect your day to day life? Does believing conspiracy theories bring any positive results in one's life?

  i keep coming across these shows...what are they doing to their poor kids?

  mostly i am refering to tat, which is guilty of glorifying the screaming and yelling at, as well as physically hurting of kids.

  has anyone else, after leaving the restrictive rules of the jw world, tried having an open marriage, joining the 'lifestyle' of the swinger comunity?

  we've been doing that for about 4-5 months now and it's been an interesting experience, in fact it's been a major distraction from the hell of rebuilding our lives outside the religion and our base of friends.

  Not a lot of interest from this forum about this but what the hell, its better than listening to crazy rants about the coming apocolypse or yet another inane mandate from the borg.

  Well, perhaps discussing religious topics here is not for everyone but there ain't anything wrong with it in my book. Doesn't really interest me but if it is for someone else, I try not to judge.

  I doubt there's much discussion of religious topix on a swingers forum. But since I haven't spent time looking into it, I guess I'm probably making an unfair assumption due to my ignorance and prejudice...lol

  Atheism or Agnosticism, which one is correct?

  this has been bugging me for a while, and while i dont want to turn this into something about semantics i think that we should quickly define what an agnostic and atheists are.. richard dawkins defines 7 different types of atheist ranging from weak to militant atheists, but along these definitions there appears one definition with a strong resemblance to agnosticism.. to me an agnostic is a person who neither believes nor disbelieves in deity/deities, but there are those who define agnostics as a ignorant who simply just don't care or don't have the intelligence to come to sound conclusion.. an atheist can be a person who disbelieves in a deity/deities based on the current mathematical and scientific understandings of the universe, as well as understandings that can refute certain religions such as the strong influence of protestantism christianity in america.. .

  from here i will refer deity as anything ranging jehovah to a real spaghetti monster, it's not important because a) we dont know b)for the purpose of this discussion it is not important to define what we believe god to be.. an argument that can be used about a deity is -we cannot prove nor disprove that god exists- this is referred to as a null hypothesis, an assumption that we cannot create a hypothesis to prove or disprove this deity.

  this to me is agnosticism and is more correct than the idea of atheism.
