  The Compassionate JW

  the united way realized that it had never received a donation from the city's most successful businessman who is a jehovahs witness.

  so a united way volunteer paid the jw businessman a visit in his lavish office.. the volunteer opened the meeting by saying, "our research shows that even though your annual income is over two million dollars, you don't give a penny to charity.

  wouldn't you like to give something back to your community through the united way?".

  Hello all !

  As a group i'd say your right, as individuals that's differant... If any of you were JWs were you Compassionate ?

  I remember though, that when i first became a JW and asking about why there wasn't a program to help the poor ( clothing/food )

  the answer i got was they were helping the poor by the witnessing work ... silly me.

  JWs not shunning you after you left the org?

  after you got disfellowshipped or disassociated yourself were there any jws relatives or not that refused to accept the shunning policy and at least secretly (or perhaps openly) kept up contact with you?

  Are Jehovah's Witnesses Truly Honest?

  jws pride themselves in being the "most honest people on earth".

  could you refute that claim??

  "Honest" is it honest to tell fasle stories?

  When my son was about 17 he got privelages Mics/bookroom, well someone spread a story my son got a girl pregnant in the cong.
  The story was totally untrue, my son never had a relationship with her, yet because of this malicous rumor/lie my son lost his privelages.

  Did the person who spead this lie recieve any reproof or anything ? NO ! Its probabliy because half their family claim to be of the "Anointed".
  a little fishy if you ask me...

  Kept in the dark

  My wife and I had the book study in our home for over ten yrs. while we raised 3 kids, and each worked full time jobs, and 5 meetings a week ( actaully having the book study in our home was for a selfesh reason, we did'nt have to go anywhere.) but over time I decided it was time for some other family to have the privelage ( LOL )

  Well to make a short story long were going to book study at some one elses home, and the bro that own the home takes me aside ( he was a MS at that time, now he's an elder)

  He says to me "I know you're on restriction, but do you think you can say the openning prayer and read?" ( I AM ! I was wondering why they had'nt ask me to read or say prayer for awhile?) I asked him when I was put on restriction and for what?

  His responce " You Did'nt know ?

  How could I know if nobody told me!

  So " Are Jehovah's Witnesses Truly Honest?" My answer is NO !

  If you do something contrary to what the bible teaches, how do you react?

  so many verses in the bible are so clear.

  example: don't steal, don't fornicate, don't have sex with a person of the same sex....etc.

  some verses couldn't be clearer.

  Everything you wrote here i agree with. I am currently inactive and have not been attending for about a year. I currently have no intention of going back to an organisation that has such controll over my life. One day i hope i have the strength to just tell them straight my views instead of having to hide everything. Its quite sad that so many of us in this forum simply cant( for the time being) reveal who we are because of the fear of being shunned by our own families .

  I could'nt agree more.

  Fortunately I have no family in the borg, but I had a lot of good friends ( I thought ).
  I have new friends now, and I know where I stand with them.

  No, I can't feel the love. In all the 20 years of friendships I had with those in the Org--even those who were closest to me there is only one sister who still speaks to me as if I am a worthwhile human being, but she is about to lose it mentally, as she is loving person trying to fit herself into this hateful religion. I know others in there who were nice people--I fear for their sanity these days--how can you integrate your personality with a religion which goes against your grain? I think many JWs suffer from multiple or at least dual personalities. How can you connect with this type of hatred and not be damaged by it?

  Oh, the other problem the elders had with us, was that we were showing mercy to a DFed friend in need, her husband was put in prison, now she has no income, she started cleaning the "Friends" homes for work, the deal with husbands problem drags on for a few yrs. no support of any kind from the "Friends" She starts drinking a little to much, gets DFed, We help her out with food, money, clothing, and listened to her problems.

  Did I forget to mention all her house cleaning accounts dropped her when she was DFed.

  Where's the Love?

  Hello all !

  WTS never ceases to amaze me.

  Wandered like a lost sheep Some who have wandered away from the Christian congregation may still love God and may want to praise him. Let us therefore do all we can to help them so that they may again find spiritual security and experience the joy of praising Jehovah with his people

  Yeah, I stop going to the meetings, and not once did the "Brother's" ever come over to my home to see how I was doing.

  But when they did show up, they had their uniforms of authority on (UOA). And did they come with oil of healing?

  NO !!! They came with malace, they came with accusations of apostasy because my wife and I were doing research

  on some of the other books mentioned in the bible. And the only thing we ever did was mention the research

  to a sister who we thought was a friend, not any new teachings or anything like that, next thing you know three "Elder's"
  show up at our door and are calling us Apostates. ( this is the short version)

  My wife told them that what they were saying was very slanderous, and we have'nt heard a word since.

  It's been a few months now.

  itsallGoodnow: I think you should add "chronic worrier" to that list. If a person is worried what they are telling him SOUNDS right, then he feels he has no choice but to join, he can't risk not joining.

  I think I fit that catagory too!
