Im new to the jw quotes site, but so far I like it very much. I have one question though. Is the site reliable? Are the quotes of older publications especially those of the different editions of Studies In The Scriptures accurate? Any input is appreciated.

It's a puff piece to be sure, but I would never want to live in a place where they couldn't preach or annoy or whatever you want to call it.

I never actually thanked you for these reviews, so I want to now. I always appreciate them and knowing how much work this is makes the reviews even more special to me.
One point right off the bat that struck me was in paragraph 1,"Our message, the good news of God's Kingdom, does not change". How much has it changed since 1879 or 1919 or 1995 for that matter? How many Witnesses think about that I wonder?
Blondie I hope you dont take this hard, but I am going to make the title of your reviews slightly inaccurate. Not only will I comment on Acts 1:8 referring to Jesus, but I also plan to mention Heb. 6:10 referring to ministering to fellow believers.

lewis says jesus' claim to be equal with deity leaves us only one other choice: .
a man who was merely a man and said the sort of things jesus said would not be a great moral teacher.

Little Toe, I really couldn't agree more with what you say. I know I will be excoriated as an idiot, but C.S. Lewis was getting to something that is important for all of us to understand about Christianity. It's not so much about what we say or think about God, but it's how much God thinks about us. Now I don't pretend to have all the answers, and though Lewis thinks he has most of them, his writing, like Paul's, takes us further than they ever intended or thought that it would. And in that is the genius of Lewis.
Now, I'm not putting Paul and Lewis on the same level although some of you don't think much of either of them, and that's fine. I'm not here to try to convince anyone of my opinion. After being a Witness for 15 years, I've had quite enough of that. My point is that Lewis is not as simple or idiotic as some might think, because anyone who can incite admiration and ridicule on the this level is worth listening to whether you agree with them or not. You are thinking! And for Witnesses or Exwitnesses, that is somehting isn't it?

they taught me everything i know".-----to give you some background, the elders paid a shepherding call on this ill former regular pioneer that they deleted for going to an "unequaled yoking" of a wedding of my inactive daughter and her "worldly" husband.
With family like that who needs anyone else?
On a serious note, I feel very badly for your mother that she has to be subjected to that kind of "love". I would thimk that their motive would be to get an admission of apostasy. They could care less, of course, if your mother loves Jehovah. They have to put that in to make it look good. It is the second question that really concerns them.
