C.S. Lewis says Jesus' claim to be equal with deity leaves us only one other choice:
A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronising nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.

BTW, why does everyone here accept the existence of these other figures but many do not accept the existence of Christ Jesus?

You must make your choice.
error # 1. it's not binary. it's not all or nothing.

error # 2. it's not binary. it's not everyone or no one.

False dilemma based on an implicit assumption. Ignores other possibilities that are logically possible.

Why is the choice either "spit on him" of "worship" him?
Maybe you could simply go out for a beer with him, and split a nice grilled cheese sandwich?

You know, I love C. S. Lewis. He's a genius. No, not just a genius...he's a god!! In fact, I find his words so inspiring and heart-searching that I cannot believe he is anyone other than God himself. And I'm not the only one. In fact, I have a whole bunch of friends who think the same thing too. Some of them in their younger days even knew his former students (who have since died in the decades since). In fact, our faith is so strong in the deity of C. S. Lewis that we'd die for our faith. I know our faith is true because of the way I feel his presence when I worship him. Now, one of my friends, this very spiritual dude named John, wrote a very inspiring biography about C. S. Lewis which explains not only how he touches our lives, but also where he came from and how he has given his loving gift of salvation (Oh may C. S. Lewis be praised!!). This book became a real best-seller and proves beyond any doubt that C. S. Lewis is none other than God. How? C. S. Lewis said so! Yes, C. S. Lewis absolutely claimed to be God. And from the things he said, there cannot be any doubt that he was either God, a madman, or something even worse! Here...let's hear some of the things C. S. Lewis most definitely said about himself, as recorded in this inspired book:
- C. S. Lewis once said that He witnessed a supernova while he creating a solar system out by the star Betalguese. Now really.... how can a wonderful human teacher of Christianity (which others mistakenly believe C. S. Lewis to be) say such a thing? He can only be a raving lunatic to say this, or he is God himself. Don't patronize him by calling him a great twentieth-century Christian....please!!!
- Another fascinating thing that C. S. Lewis said was that Americans would land men on the moon in July 1969. And wouldn't you know.... this prophecy came true!!! Now, how can a mere human person of faith make such a prophecy? This is just more proof he is God and knows the future.
- C. S. Lewis also once had some contractors build a house for him (he had lived all his life before that in a tent). One day the head contractor arrived to the tent and C. S. Lewis said to him: "Are you the man to build me a house to dwell in?" This is to fulfill the prophecy in 2 Samuel 7:5: "Thus the LORD speaks: 'Are you the man to build me a house to dwell in?' " Amazing that 2 Samuel thousands of years earlier had prophesied C. S. Lewis' question!!
- C. S. Lewis said "I am God, I am the Lord, I am the Creator of all things". Since he said this, we have no choice but to decided between two opposite possibilities: That he was a madman, or he is who he says he is! Either that, or he is the Devil who is the father of the lie.
In the face of all this overwhelming evidence, C. S. Lewis could only have been God, a raving lunatic, or the Devil (or a demon). Just don't patronize him by saying that he was a Christian person of great faith.

I must say this has touched a nerve!
I have a real "thing" about C.S. Lewis.
The praises I hear every day (at the bookstore where I work in the religious section) heaped upon him are more than I can bear.
The man is an educated idiot.
His logic is on par with the Apostle Paul (who was kicked out of rabbinical school because he couldn't do analogy.) Which is to say, awkward.
It really pleases the masses, however. He is apologist without equal in the minds of the weak believers looking for solace.
As a writer I find him trite and purple.
The Chronicles of Narnia are vastly over rated and mundane fare. His style is...well...vapid.
I just had to vent.
Sorry.
Now..back to our regularly scheduled programming......
