  confused Im a non JW and my boyfriend is one of the JWs

  i'm 21 years old and currently in a relationship with a baptised jw.

  i have been studying with the jws for 2 years before we met.

  well, i have to admit, i did not enjoy studying with them until about 10 months ago when i became interested of digging the "truth" although it means my sources was only the jw.

  5 months is a drop in the bucket to cut your losses. I don't mean to sound harsh, but after you get married and have kids it only gets worse. The longer you wait the the harder it gets, sound cliche, but it's that way for a reason.

  My .02 is save yourself first. Completely understand what the JW organizational is really about. Be prepared to back up your research scripturally. So when you do get into a heated discussion you don't get twisted.

  Also, loving someone because they serve God is definately NOT wrong. That's a great attribute. However, in this context, you are both serving the GB as long as you believe in JW; which is a TOTALLLY different story.

  Hello. I was born into the JW religion for 16 years. 7 years after I left, I accepted Christ as my personal savior. Best move yet! I found a loving God who accepts me for who I am!

  As far as this forum goes, I'm always interested to see what is happening with the JW org and how people are currently struggling with it, seeking it or leaving it!

  Tough subject...here goes..

  Homosexualtity has been around since the beginning of time. God, didn't create things that way, but are bodies are not perfect either. We are born into imperfection. Just like some kids are autistic or have some unkown incurable disease. Do we love these kids any different? No! Why should you love your parents any less or your parents love you any less? If we follow Jesus' model on loving others as he who loved all, it's pretty straighforward.

  Here's the catch from the Christian point of view: It's the *act* of homosexulaity of which is the sin and is no different than lying or lusting, adultery etc. Accepting Christ into your life will transform your life. How? By empowering you with his Holy Spirit. What's God going to do different? i don't know, I'm not you, only God can work that our with you. Nonetheless, he still loves you unconditionally.

  did you ever consider yourself a worldy person while being a witness?

  if you did, what constituted worldliness?

  in my days i've done many things that didn't bother my conscious, yet, by todays standards of the org.

  No. But things that constitued wordliness:

  - Dances/proms/Square dancing

  -rollerskating, sports(organzied sports outside of JW)

  -Reading non-JW literature

  -Higher education

  -Associating with non-JW's other than sharing the truth...

  -Of course, sex before marriage or even just holding hands for that matter...

  David, a prophet, predicated Christ's return 100's of years prior to Christ. Plus, Jesus is part David's lineage. David just happens to say the SAME exact words as Jesus does before he dies on the cross?

  Is the Society's message to JW's getting stronger?

  during a dinner conversation with a loyal jw, he mentioned that the society seems to be making stronger statements to jw's.

  he mentioned the "keep on the watch" brochure, and how it seemed to be for jw's as well as the public.

  he acknowledged the "personal questions" the society were asking us, in the brochure - how pointed and direct they are, even asking you to rank your physical and spiritual activities on a scale of 1 to 10. .
