i have the sneaking suspicion that these terms each mean something slightly different from one another, but i thought i'd see how the natives use them.
Finally, Northern Ireland is technically part of the UK (Like Montserrat, the Falklands, etc) and not British... however, for all intents and purposes, they are Brits. Why this is I am not sure. Maybe someone from N.I can correct me if I'm wrong. Hope this helps!
I was just thinking about this. Perhaps the reason is that sometimes the Island of Ireland and Britain are sometimes refered to collectively as "The British Isles" this would make N.I part of the British Isles and therefore Brits.

LittleToe did a good job explaining everything. However, I realise it's a lot to take in all at once. To make it simple for you the situation at a very basic level is this:
Scotland is a country
England is a country
Wales is a country
Together, these 3 countries make another bigger country called Great Britain. This is the island in western Europe.
You can only be English if you come from England. Scottish and Welsh people are not English.
Scottish, English and Welsh people are all British.
Great Britain plus Northern Ireland plus every other territory that remains of our dead empire (i.e Falkland Islands, etc) makes The United Kingdom. For example...if I was from the island of Montserrat in the Carribean...I would be part of the UK, but not British, Great Britain is the island in Europe remember.

since leaving the jws and joining my current company i get asked every six months to give blood.
i've never done it and still feel as if i had an accident i would be very reluctant to have a transfusion.. if its not too personal can i ask what others views are on this and your experiences if any?.

I was brainwashed before I even had a book study. They had placed the Live Forever book first, I was entraced after the first couple of chapters. Then they gave me the Creation/Evolution book which was effective in eroding my remaining faith in science. When the book study came my eyes were already glazed over...like taking candy from a baby. I never was very bright!

I always trust people, to a certain extent, until they give me a reason not to.
That's my philosophy also. Nobody really knows anyone, in my opinion. This is because we are constantly changing and re-inventing our inner-selves. I am not the same person I was a year ago, or two years ago, or...well, you catch my drift. All I can do is give people the benefit of the doubt, and if they surprise me with their actions then I ruminate over what it means and whether or not I have to re-evaluate my relationship with that person.

you had to continuously question yourself about possibly offending another (weak) christian's conscience.....were you always worried that you were going to get into trouble because you might've screwed up somehow??.
I used to worry profusely about my attire. I would wear thai-dye tops and "new age" trousers. Bright green boots with rastafarian laces. I was never spoken to about my clothing, but I knew others in the cong were avoiding me because of it. I suppose part of me knew this could "stumble" others, however, I strongly believed that nobody should be judged by what they chosse to wear, so I stuck it out.
Worrying about my "hippy" threads had other repercussions, to the point where even if I just wore jeans and a sloganed t-shirt, I felt the elders were taking notes on me. Perhaps it was just me being paranoid, but I guess that's what this cult does to your character.
